I did completely re-write and edit the last chapter if you haven't seen – it might be ideal to read it!
You'll get to see a small portion of what Dewy/Rexxx is feeling in this chapter – hope you guys like it!
Firehouse Dog Fanfic | The Dogpatch Family | Red Pins and Flyers
The next day was a Saturday – Amber's new favorite day of the week, because technically, it was the start of the weekend. Usually, she'd be typing away at her computer – making stories up like Fanfiction or even some original content of her own. This was a hobby that no one else knew about, though, she kept it secret – her own little secret.
"Dewy, come on!" Amber called, turning off her computer and tidying up her desk a little. Her plans were bunked today because of the dog, her father wanted her to put every effort into finding Dewy's owner before anything else – unless it homework, but then, she hasn't been doing any of that for a while lately – so why bother right now?
Turning around, she jumped a little when she saw the dog sitting quietly by her bedroom door – looking up at her with awaiting eyes. With a sigh, she grabbed her shoulder bag, slinging it over her before getting an old leash she used to use for Chief. The flyers were all done, now they just needed putting up and unfortunately, there was no stapler anywhere in this house other than at the Station where she would have to face her father again after last night.
She wasn't really looking forward to it.
"Come on," Amber muttered, attaching the leash to Dewy's collar with surprisingly little fuss. "Let's get this show on the road."

Amber was using her skateboard, as usual, heading down the street, all dressed up in her same-old casual jeans, tank top and a jacket. The dog jogged beside her, finding it easy to keep up – she was thankful that he wasn't trying to pull her in every direction – in this case, making her fall on her face.
Terrance was the first to notice her wheeling up to the Station, "Hey, Amber!" He called, waving his hand towards her from on top of the rig. He was in the middle of folding the water hose pipes on the top with Lionel – making sure every line was straight and there were no chances of tangles for when they next needed to pull them out. Everyone else gave their usual greetings for the younger girl as she whizzed past them and into the Station via the garage, listening to Joe bark orders on how to keep the pipe straight.

When Amber entered the main building to the Station, she immediately took notice of a very large man standing on top of a yellow ladder – he was fiddling with the electrics on the wall, just by the top of the staircase that led to the fireman's dorm.
The telephone box in the hallway suddenly lit up with light, "Okay, Captain, try it now!" The electrician called to her father – he must be in the offices.
"Nothing!" Amber heard her father call back as she maneuvered the skateboard in her hands a little, making it so the thing wouldn't fall out of her arms. But then she decided to just leave it on one of the seats for a moment, it wasn't like she was staying too long anyway. Her father probably wanted her to go out and put those flyers' up straight away without any more conversation.
The electrician started to grumble to himself, not looking pleased that whatever he had done – hadn't worked.
Amber found herself with Dewy still on his leash in the entrance to the offices; she watched as her father sifted through dozens of yellow sheets of paper – one could assume they were invoices of some sort. "The flyers are done." She made her presence known, making her father's head perk up in surprise towards her. "I just need a stapler so I can actually put them up."
