Harry
I watched as Kiana looked out the carriage window. I noticed how much her features have changed since that awful night. She kept her guard up at all times now which frightened me because she can be a bit scary at times. I looked into her Hazel eyes searching for the girl I fell in love with and not this shell of her. But you can't love her or she'll end up getting hurt. I mean, I still love her and I don't blame her for closing herself off like this but I missed her. I missed the happy and smiling Kiana. I guess we both decided distance from one another was safe. But, I still remember the night we told each other we loved each other. The last night I've ever seen her smile or truly laugh.
Flashback ;
"Of course I'm in love with you, I just need time.. I know you would never hurt me but trust me Harry, I'm yours and only yours, I just need time and I feel like after this tournament things will get easier for us," Kiana smiled.
I couldn't help but not smile at her. She was like a fallen angel sent down from up above just for me. She never judged me or hid a thing from me she's always been there for me.
"Can I kiss you," I boldly asked.
Please say yes.
"You'd be stupid not to," She chuckled.
And with that, I kissed her.
End of Flashback :
"Earth to Harry, we're all getting our seats now, you dozed off," Kiana said.
She held out a hand for me to hold which I took. I followed her to the Gryffindor Table and sat next to her ignoring the scowls of others. She then let my hand go. Kiana then took her phone out and I noticed her wallpaper was of her and Cedric. She then got on her game 'Temple Run' and was trying to beat her high score as I watched.
"Who's that," Hermione said sharply, pointing toward the middle of the staff table.
"Probably our new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher, we need Moony back," Kiana said not looking up from her phone.
My eyes followed hers. She was looking up at the professors table. Her eyes landed on Dumbledore and then traveled to the woman dressed in pink from head to toe.
"That's how Kayla is going to look when she's older," Kiana said.
She then turned her attention back to her phone.
"It's that Umbridge woman," I hissed.
Kiana noticed my distressed tone and set her phone down finally looking up.
"Who,"Kiana asked.
"She was at my hearing, she works for Fudge," I said.
"Nice cardigan," said Jake, smirking.
"She works for Fudge," Hermione repeated, frowning. "What on earth's she doing here, then?"
"Dunno," I answered.
Kiana scanned the staff table, her eyes glaring at the woman in pink.
"No," she muttered, "no, surely not . . ."
***
In times of old when I was new
And Hogwarts barely started
The founders of our noble school
Thought never to be parted:
United by a common goal,
They had the selfsame yearning,
To make the world's best magic school
And pass along their learning.
"Together we will build and teach!"
The four good friends decided
And never did they dream that they
Might someday be divided,
For were there such friends anywhere
As Slytherin and Gryffindor?
Unless it was the second pair
Of Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw?
So how could it have gone so wrong?
How could such friendships fail?
Why, I was there and so can tell
The whole sad, sorry tale.
Said Slytherin, "We'll teach just those
Whose ancestry is purest."
Said Ravenclaw, "We'll teach those whose
Intelligence is surest."
Said Gryffindor, "We'll teach all those
With brave deeds to their name."
Said Hufflepuff, "I'll teach the lot,
And treat them just the same."
These differences caused little strife"
When first they came to light,
For each of the four founders had
A House in which they might
Take only those they wanted, so,
For instance, Slytherin
Took only pure-blood wizards
Of great cunning, just like him,
And only those of sharpest mind
Were taught by Ravenclaw
While the bravest and the boldest
Went to daring Gryffindor.
Good Hufflepuff, she took the rest,
And taught them all she knew,
Thus the Houses and their founders
Retained friendships firm and true.
So Hogwarts worked in harmony
For several happy years,
But then discord crept among us
Feeding on our faults and fears.
The Houses that, like pillars four,
Had once held up our school,
Now turned upon each other and,
Divided, sought to rule.
And for a while it seemed the school
Must meet an early end,
What with dueling and with fighting
And the clash of friend on friend
And at last there came a morning
When old Slytherin departed
And though the fighting then died out
He left us quite downhearted.
And never since the founders four
Were whittled down to three
Have the Houses been united
As they once were meant to be.
And now the Sorting Hat is here
And you all know the score:
I sort you into Houses
Because that is what I'm for,
But this year I'll go further,
Listen closely to my song:
Though condemned I am to split you
Still I worry that it's wrong,
Though I must fulfill my duty
And must quarter every year
Still I wonder whether Sorting
May not bring the end I fear.
Oh, know the perils, read the signs,
The warning history shows,
For our Hogwarts is in danger
From external, deadly foes
And we must unite inside her
Or we'll crumble from within.
I have told you, I have warned you. . . .
Let the Sorting now begin.
