» cut me off i lost my track, it's not my fault i'm a maniac. it's not funny, anymore no it's not. «
"Did you ever see this happening?" That was a new one from him. I'd usually get statements, like how happy he was to be with me or, how he couldn't see it any other way. I rose from where I crouched. We had just finished feeding. Our eyes were back to their regular golden color. I wiped away any stray blood off my lips and shook my head. In all honesty, I figured it would take another 100 years until I found my mate. "No like... being with me, doing this." He chuckled as he motioned our surroundings. I laughed at myself as I found him by my side. His arm wrapped protectively over my shoulders as he pulled me in for a kiss. Nothing but love was emitting from him. He was practically giddying with happiness.
"Obviously not Jas. I truly believed I would meet my mate a century later. Not as soon as I did." I chuckled at the curious man before me. "I figured I would be your age when I met my mate." Jasper was about 160 years old. I thought I would hit his age before I stumbled upon him. Jasper took it as a joking insult on his age. There was about a seventy year age difference between us. Our fingers intertwined and we headed for our home for the time being.
Jasper rolled over from his side of the bed to lay on top of me. I peeled my eyes open to stare at the beige ceiling. We never slept, but we laid in bed like we did. Sometimes we would take a couple hours to subdue ourselves in our own thoughts. A majority of it, I would think back to our wonderful adventures together, or the future ones to come. His black eyes met mine and I teased about how someone was hungry. He growled in response, he wasn't the nicest when he was hungry. It's been three days since we've eaten and it only dawned on us now we were starved. The other day had come and gone so quickly. In spite of the fact we were up for every waking moment.
"And what shall we feast on tonight." I asked as I arose from the bed. My hunger wasn't as much as his but regardless. I had to feed before a little slip up. Though I've been gaining more and more self control as the days went on. Jasper shrugged but showed how eager he was to leave. I couldn't help but chuckle as we hopped out the window. "You make it difficult for me to love you when you're hungry." Jasper growled. I wouldn't mind doing this with him for eternity.

As the months continued, the spectacle of Jasper and I being engaged at the young age that we were slowly died down. They had their own theories on how we had met. Some say I had been backpacking across Alaska when I stumbled upon him. Others had the idea that we had met in Canada and really hit it off. The select few already had the assumption we were already married and the ring was just for show. Either way, no one ever thought to bring it up or question me or Jasper about it to our faces. Probably because Jasper manipulated fear into their emotions to prevent it every time they passed by him. It helped that there had been another new girl that would be entering the school. She would be the new talk of the town. That was something that eased my tensions completely. It was tiring to hear people constantly talk about me as if they knew me. It was months ago did they find out I was engaged and they still had new things to say. Humans were interesting creatures. Then again, the town was as small as it was. There weren't that many things to gossip about.
As far as my powers went, I shared the new revelation the day it happened to my family. More specifically; Carlisle. He marveled at the development as he had never seen anything like it before. Yes he had come across people with remarkable abilities but to constantly advance into something else was unheard of to him. We began to test it out on willing family members, Emmett being the first to volunteer. The first day nothing. It may had been a spur of the moment with Jasper. But as the days continued, I slowly began to manipulate the feelings of others. Emmett first one day when he was in the living room mind his own business. He had been his happy go lucky self before he started feeling a wave of sadness overcome him. Then Alice who had always been so hyperactive; I made her calm and relaxed for an entire day. It was a whole day without her jumping from wall to wall. Everyone wasn't used to her change of pace. And as much as we liked the little rest it gave us, we missed her bubbly attitude. I still couldn't feel the emotions Jasper felt, I could only see them and manipulate it. The only reason I knew how they were feeling was because of their aura.
