» I'm outside the door, invite me in
So we can go back and play pretend «As the days passed, I tried my best to not let the mundane routine ruin me. The last time I had done anything remotely exciting was the last family trip we had taken. Then reality came crashing down once we got back into school. I was back to the same old thing five days a week. I couldn't help but feel selfish for disliking the life I was living. I was happy with my family completely. It was just so boring.
The trill of the bell snapped me back into reality. I had been fixated on the white board before me. Jasper met me outside the classroom, as usual. It didn't take Edward to realize I wasn't totally myself today. Everyone around me seemed to get the vibe I have and steered absolutely away from me. Jasper had a concerned look on his face.
"Stop that." His smooth voice instructed. I snapped out of it again. His hand was at the small of my back. I ushered towards the lockers. His body pressed against mine slightly, he trapped me. "You're changing everyone's mood. Mine included." I realized his aura was as dreary as mine. I noticed a handful of people with the same color. He had a slight frown on his face as he studied mine. I didn't want to talk about it but his eyes bore into mine to try and get an answer. "Come." He grabbed my arm and led me elsewhere. The destination was the nurse's office. There, he managed to get the school nurse to let us out early because I was sick. Something about visiting his father. That's all the young nurse needed before she got giddy again. She's probably seen Carlisle around the hospital. She asked that we say hi to him from Gwen.
"I don't want to talk about it." I mumbled when we headed towards our car. The parking lot was empty, save for a few people. His car was parked in between Edward's and Alice's. It was like they had their own assigned parking that no one messed with. Needless to say, they were the best spots on campus. He opened the door for me and waited until I got in to close my door.
"My love you know you don't have to." Jasper revved the engine to life. "But what are you feeling that way." He sped away from the parking lot. He did serve a point. But I felt like we already spoke about this plenty of times.
"Nothing exciting ever happens here Jasper, I'm bored. School isn't for me." I frowned deeply. "I know it's to keep appearances but it's mundane."
"My little nomad." His hand placed over mine as his eyes fixated to the road ahead. "Just stick out these last couple years my love. We won't have to do it the next town we move to." It pained me to think it would last that long. Being that we didn't have to eat, sleep, or breathe... our days were naturally longer. Twenty four hours in a day, with every moment spent awake was grueling.
"Where are you taking me?" I asked him as we drove past the 'Welcome to Seattle' sign. I didn't even realize we had been far out of town. It was if I blinked and we were in a brand new place. Though the drive was a couple hours away. Jasper teased about my absence the past couple hours. He figured I needed a day away from everything. It was after all the middle of Thursday. I couldn't thank my mate enough for the temporary break he gave us. I smiled at him as I held his hand in mine.
When we arrived to the hotel, I marveled at the interior designs. Columns thirty feet tall held the building up, with fluorescent lights wrapped all the way to the top. The marble floors made my heels click against them. It was beautiful. I beamed brightly at Jasper, whose golden eyes were already fixated on me. He checked us in and we got into the large elevator. It brought us all the way to the top. The penthouse suite. I told him he didn't have to do all of this for me.
"Nothing but the best for you my love." Jasper placed his lips against my cheek. I smiled at my mate. As he settled our luggage down, I made my way into our room. I bit my lip and noticed the California king sized bed neatly made. That sure wasn't going to look like that by the end of the night. As if on cue, Jasper had his arms around my waist and his teeth nibbled at my ear. "Were you thinking what I'm thinking?" He growled seductively in my ear. I felt a familiar excited churn in my stomach when he said this. I chuckled as a response, and that's all Jasper needed. In a second he pinned me down on the bed, arms above my head. He stared and smiled down at me. I studied his features as he did mine. His golden locks fell slightly over his eyes. "Beautiful." Was all he said. I replied with three simple words.
