«Figures. I'm the bad guy 'cause I can't learn to trust. Love figures. You say sorry once and you think it's enough. I got a lineup of girls and a lineup of guys...Begging for me just to give 'em a try. Figures. I'm willing to stay... 'Cause I'm sick for your love»
"Do you think... after decades... even centuries together, we'll never get bored of each other?"
I asked Jasper with genuinely curious eyes with my chin rested atop the palms of my hands. We were in the middle of the ocean, on a well lit yacht that we had owned. Jasper reigned on this sort of the trip. We were headed towards Isle Esme, a gift from Carlisle to his wife. We only passed through Rio but what was the rush getting to the island? The sky was beautifully painted with stars and the steady waves were relaxing.
My eyes trailed the outline of his face that the moon illuminated. His jawline was sharp and his lips curved into a slight smile. We were laid next to each other and his beautiful golden eyes met mine. He rolled over and placed some weight on me. One leg rested between my thighs, a lock of hair curled past his eyebrow as he looked down on me. I couldn't help but smile as he lightly brushed his lips on my forehead.
"Darlin'!" Jasper let out a chuckle as he cupped my cheek with his large hand. I kissed the crescent scar closest to my lips. "I learn something new about you each day. We experience new things together." His eyes peered deeply into mine; making me swoon. " I love you more and more as the sun sets and the moon rises. Do you honestly think, that after thousands of moons, I'll get bored of you?"
"He's not bored of you."
Edward chimed into my inner monologue. He approached me from behind. It's been a week since we've been here. Things in the house were tense. Partly because the house was divided. It was no longer a welcoming environment for myself. I barely stayed in the same room as Alice whenever she walked in. It didn't help that Jasper had re-registered into the school. It made my blood boil to no end. The decision was made prior a discussion between us.
He planned on staying here for awhile.
Although I didn't consent... I couldn't be completely against it.
Finding Victoria was the only plus side to being here. And if the information Rosalie had given me was correct; she was responsible for Ferguson's death. I haven't made any attempts to find her but something told me she'd be in this town. Something told me she would be back to reign vengeance on myself or Edward for disposing of her mate. I would've done the same in her shoes.
I turned to face him with a slight scowl on my face.
"I told you not to do that." My arms were crossed over my chest. Edward could try a little harder to not read my thoughts. If only I could block him out like Bella. I needed to learn her trick. "You could try harder."
