The holidays over and now, we're back to school. I was the same, smiling and all, with everyone. Demon was still my dorm mate but yet, he avoided me. We didn't talk after the 'break-up.' I had already finished my training and now I only practiced. T$here was a month left for the battle. What a coincidence! The battle was on prom night. I met Jane and other friends. I smiled, laughed not letting anyone see what was going on inside; the pain. No one doubted anything.
The principal called me in his office. ''Angelina sit down.'' he said. I took a seat. ''I am worried about you.'' he said. ''You don't have to be. I am perfectly fit for the battle.'' I said, chuckling. ''I wasn't talking about the battle. It's about you and Demon.'' it came out more of a whisper. I laughed. ''Seriously Mr. Peterson? Am not that weak to let a boy ruin my life. And, I certainly can take care of myself!'' I said, my voice firm. ''Anyways, I wanted to give you this book.'' he handed me a book. The title was legends.
After one week:
I was in the cafeteria. I saw Demon and the boys sitting at their table. The bimbos came to them and Natasha, the 'leader' threw her hands on Demon's shoulders. I felt something; jealousy? I was sitting on our table, with the girls. ''Hey, Angelina! You hear anything am saying?'' Taylor asked me. ''Yeah yeah!'' I laughed. ''Oh, bu the way, I gotta go. I need to take my books from the locker.'' I excused myself. I went to my locker. The corridor was empty. I opened my locker and was about to take out my books, when I heard a familiar voice.
''I'm sorry dear, Demon's fed up with you.'' Natasha opened her locker and took out her make up. My heart started to ache badly. I laughed. It seems that laughing, that was the only option I was left with, nowadays. She looked at me, confused. ''You know, you can still change if you want to. I'm aware that you don't love Demon. You are doing this for popularity.'' I said but she cut me off. ''What are you talking about!?'' she said,a tint of nervousness was in her voice.
''Am talking to you as a well-wisher. I know Demon's got enough of me and am perfectly okay with that. In fact there was nothing between us; we were only friends. But I also know that you are being clingy to Demon for popularity's sake. But believe me, there is someone who can make you happy and with whom you'll get true love. You just have to look in the right place. Better late than never, Natasha.'' I finished the moment the bell rang. She was totally confused but I knew that she'd take my words seriously.
