Chapter 43: Engagement.

Demon's p.o.v:

I was perplexed.  I knew that it was for the best but something deep inside believed it. ''You're doing the right thing, son.'' the king patted me on the back. ''I hope so.'' I mumbled. The hall was crowded with the guests. ''Son.'' Mum mumbled from beside me. I was in a corner of the hall. mum came to me. ''Are you happy with this?'' she asked me looking worried. ''Yeah, I am just nervous.'' I lied. ''Liar. Listen to me. Do what your heart tells you. This ain't a joke, son.'' She said. King came and took his wife to meet the guests. 

I thought about mum's words. She was right. I went to Suzanne. She was chatting with some girls. ''Excuse me ladies. I need her.'' I said, excusing us. They giggled. I took Suzanne to my room. ''You want to do it now itself?'' she launched her hands towards me but I took a step back. ''No. I just want to talk.'' I said. ''What is it sweetheart?'' she asked pouting. She closed the distance between us and put her hands on my chest. I was starting to lose my calm. ''Get your hands off me!'' I said harshly. She flinched at my tone and took some steps back. ''What is it?'' she asked nonchalantly. ''I don't want to get engaged to you. I'm sorry Suzanne but I don't love you and I don't want to ruin your life.'' She blinked away a few tears.

''It's because of that bitch, ain't it? She slept with you and you enjoyed it so much that you instantly fell i-'' I pinned her to the wall. ''NEVER SAY THAT ON HER!!! I love her because she's different. And I don't need to give you any reasons.''There was fear in her eyes. I left her and she fell on the floor. ''You're a bitch and not her.'' I replied sternly. ''She'll pay for this.'' I heard her mumble. I told the King that the engagement was broken and got out. I knew they'd take care of it. I teleported myself to the prom. 

''Hey Lucas, where is she?'' I asked. ''Out at the battle. she told us to protect the humans.'' I stormed off towards the forest without wasting time. The chilly air and the rain was not what bothered me. I needed to find her. Going deeper in the forest, I could smell her blood. Stopping dead in my tracks, my breath was taken away as I stood watching the scene before me. She was lying on the ground, trying to get up. Her clothes were soaked in blood and rain. Tenebris blade was not near her. She got up with a bond. The atmosphere around her was tense, smelling of death. I took some steps back simultaneously with the half-masked man.

Her eyes were a pure black color. They held so much pain. She was suffering. ''I love him!'' She yelled. ''You're right. I'm gonna die but because I want to.'' I was shocked. I couldn't move, hear, see nor understand anything that happened. My senses were blocked. I was beside him and she hadn't noticed me. My heart was beating too fast, the adrenaline rushing. There was a dark magical energy from her and the man in front of her vaporized to ash. The next thing I knew was that she was falling gracefully, our eyes met and she mouthed my name. She fell in my arms. Blood was flowing out of her heart; her eyes closed. I didn't even realized when I had transformed in my vampire form. I ripped my shirt, crushed it in a ball and pressed it against Angel's heart.
