Prologue: Random Kiss

Seize the day. 

You only live once. 

Ella smiles every time she hears or reads those phrases. It only means that people should live life happy. People should take risks and do something spontaneous. And maybe those things alone were the reasons why she was here tonight. It was because she wanted to seize the moment. 

Alam niyang labag sa batas ang gagawin niya ngunit hindi na niya iniisip iyon. Ang gusto niya lang sa ngayon ay ang mabuhay. She wanted to seze ever opportunity she could get. Life is too short to live in the dark and she was done living in the dark. She wanted to finally come out and see the light. 

"Kinakabahan ako." bulong niya sa kanyang sarili. Napansin niyang nakatingin sa kanya ang kaibigan. She smiled at Jenny. Jenny was her best friend. They have been partners in crime since college. She was her confidant. They knew everything about each other. They have done crazy things together and she knew that this thing that they will do tonight was supposed to be fun and yet she couldn't help but to be nervous about it. 

"Huwag kang kabahan. Bongganess lang itey!" Jenny said to her, smiling. She even raised her left hand for a high five. Natawa naman siya at saka inapiran ito. 

"Okay. I'mma do this. But if we get caught ---" hindi na niya natapos ang sasabihin. Bigla ay naisip niya na kung sakaling mahuli sila ay maaari silang makulong and spending a night in jail would be something spontaneous. Gusto niyang maranasan iyon.

"Hindi tayo makukulong! Planado ko ito eh!" kinindatan pa siya ng kanyang kaibigan. Napailing siya. Inakbayan siya ni Jenny. "Ako ang aakyat sa harap. Ikaw sa likod. Tandaan mo, fourth window from the left side of the building. Fourth floor. Magkita na lang tayo sa loob ng bahay ng Diegong Bading na iyon." Tinapik ni Jenny ang kanyang balikat. She gave her the rope that she would use to connect to the rope that Jenny have placed in that building earlier. Hindi niya alam kung paano naisip ni Jenny ang mga bagay na it. Bigla tuloy niyang naisip na baka ambisyon talaga nito ang maging kriminal. She remembered back when they were still in college, she and Jenny wanted to be a con artist -- just like Matt Bomer on White Collar, pero biruan lang naman nila iyon but now, here they are, trying to break inside the house of the most agitating showbiz reporter she had ever met.

Lumakad na siya patungo sa likod ng building. She immediately saw the rope which was tied somewhere up there. Itinali niya ang lubid sa kanyang baywang at saka pilit na inabot ang nakalalay na taling nasa kanyang harapan. She connected that to the rope tied on her waist. Nang masiguro niyang matibay ang pagkakabuhol ay saka niya sinimulan ang pag-akyat. She placed her feet against the wall of the building. Alam niyang hindi magiging madali ang bagay na iyon. Years of mountain climbing experience taught her that climbing a wall was really hard. But because she wanted to sieze the moment, gagawin niya ito. 

"One..." bilang pa niya habang paakyat. Jenny said that she should enter the window from the left side of the building. Fourth window from the left side which was... She grinned when she finally reached that window. It was slightly open. Naging madali para sa kanya ang abutin iyon ay buksan. 

"Two.. three..." she pushed herself in. She took a deep breath when she realized that she was finally inside that unit. The room was dark and quiet. Walang tao sa palagid. Kumunot naman ang kanyang noo. Bakit walang tao? Jenny was supposed to be here at this time. Wala pa rin ang kaibigan ni Jenny na si Robi at mukhang wala talagang tao sa lugar na iyom. 

Something wasn't right. 

"Blag..."

Her eyes widened when she heard something. Agad siyang lumuhod at nagkubli sa gilid ng malaking cabinet.
