Vic's POV

It was Christmas eve and we are off till the 27th. We aren't able to go home so us four, our drum and guitar tech, merch girl and manager Michelle checked into a hotel in San Antonio and headed up to our room.
"I call a bed with turtle" I shouted in the elevator
"What about me? Your brother" Mike said acting hurt.
"I've slept with you when we were younger when you had nightmares and I would wake up on the floor because you would take up the whole bed"
"Fine"
"But you love me right Vicky?" Hime said
"Not with your smelly feet" he pouted.
"My turtle is the only normal one" I said caressing his cheek
"Yes I am. We have a short cheek caresser, a smelly footed hime and a whiskey obsessed drummer" tony said
"There is nothing wrong with loving whiskey" Mike protested
"There is when that's what you call yourself"
"Okay turtle"
"Shush" Tony said. The elevator rang and we got out on the sixth floor. We all had our keys but I being the smart one that I am, held the key in my hand unlike the three children who put the key in their luggage already. When I unlocked it, Tone and I ran to one of the beds and belly flopped
"Ours!" We shouted. Mike jumped into his and Jaime's bed face down
"Ours!" He shouted
"Yeah you take that or you're sleeping on the floor" I told my little brother.

It was 3pm and I was scrolling through Twitter when I saw Taylor posted a photo of her and Alex in Christmas onesies

@taylorcole: Christmas Eve selfie with my little elf

I favourited it and then called her her. I haven't spoke to her much since tour started and if I do it's just texting.

"Hello?" Her voice came out tired. Was she sleeping?
"Hey baby" I said
"Hi Vic" Jheez. That hurt
"How've you been? How was Alex's birthday?" I asked
"Perfectly fine. I gotta go" and she hung up. Even though that was a slow and short conversation, it meant more then I've ever said to anyone. Just hearing her voice made me happy. She might've not been too pleased to hear from me but at least I called right? I'll call her again tomorrow.

"Who were you talking to?" My little brother asked. Everyone went out to get food but I stayed and Mike went to explore the hotel. There's a hot tub downstairs which is something I'll take up later.
"Tay" he nodded and sat on the bed
"How is she?"
"I have no idea. It was a short conversation" he nodded
"I uh. I spoke to her a few days ago" he spoke up after a few minutes. I looked at him to continue
"She was upset about a lot of things"
"Like what?" I asked
"Well for one you didn't call Alex for his birthday"
"I thought it was the 20th!" I protested
"The 27th Vic. September 27th. Any fucking way. You barely call or message her and ask how they're doing. Our parents go over a lot and stay with him while she goes to work"
"She works now?" He nodded
"She's a waitress at this restaurant. I forgot the name of it but uh either mom or dad go over and take care of Alex when he comes home from work"
"Mike... I'm fucking this up. What am I gonna do?" I asked rubbing my temples
"You can start by making time to call them at least once a week like I do. She isn't my girlfriend and he isn't my kid but I always call my best friend and ask how they're doing"
"How are you making time?" Were always together and I never see him pull out his phone
"Because I make time for important people. The only ones  you seem to call is our parents. Don't get me wrong I do that too but Tay needs us more Vic"
"Starting tomorrow I'm calling her every week or at least being there when you call"
"Whatever" he got up and plopped onto his bed.

Taylor's POV

I was sitting in the living room of mine and Vic's house watching CSI Miami while Alex played with his toys. Tomorrow the Fuentes' and my parents are coming over for Christmas dinner and Alysha is coming over later for a bit.
This Christmas, just like many others will be one without Vic and for some reason, it makes me upset. Alex always asks when the boys are coming home and I tell him before Tony's birthday. My phone started ringing and I looked at it. It was Vic so I picked it up. I haven't spoken to him in a while.

Hello?" My voice came out sounding tired.
"Hey baby" he said
"Hi Vic"
"How've you been? How was Alex's birthday?" He asked
"Perfectly fine. I gotta go" and I hung up. I didn't want to be a bitch it's just I didn't feel like talking right now. There was a lot on my mind and I didn't need him calling me and asking how I am after not calling since Alex's birthday. I got up and walked over to the dining room where Alysha and I had set up the Christmas tree. Vic's parents came over that day and brought us the first ornament we put on the Fuentes family tree the year we started dating. It was a sparkly ball that had 'Vic and Taylor's first Christmas' on it. It sounds cheesy but it was cute. I picked up the ball, making sure it still stayed on the tree and took a photo of it. There was also a special one that I brought with me. It was Alex's first one that I bought him the first year I was in Michigan. It was a blue baby crib that said 'baby's first Christmas'

I was looking out the window and realized how different everything is compared to Michigan. It snows and it gets cold in the winter while here in San Diego, it never snows and it's hot all year around.
My phone buzzed and I saw it was Vic who mentioned me in a tweet

@piercethevic: missing these people this Christmas </3

And it was a photo of me, Alex, Vic and his parents at his parents house for Vivian's birthday. She was sitting in the middle with a huge sombrero that Mike forced her to wear and Victor senior was sitting on her left side while he held Alex and Vic sat on her right and I was beside him. Mike didn't want to be in the photo so he just took it. It was good day. I like and favourited the tweet. I don't want to lose him but at the same time I feel like he isn't trying or is tired of Alex and I.

"I'm here and ready to enjoy the night" the sound of Alysha's voice bounced off the walls of the house. I looked at the clock on the wall and saw it was 2:30pm.
"In the living room" I called. Soon she walked in in denim skinny jeans and a pantera tank top.
"Hey" she said
"Hey"
"Hi" Alex said happily.
"Hey sweetie" Alysha said looking down at him smiling.
"How you doing?" She asked sitting beside me on the couch. I shrugged
"Fine. Just a bit upset I guess" she nodded
"They'll be home soon"
"Yeah and then I'll ask Vic why he barley calls. Watch his excuse will be he was busy but yet Mike is able to call at least once a week"
"Let's not focus on boys tonight. Let's just enjoy Christmas Eve with Alex okay?" I nodded.

I'm so sorry I took a while to update this story. I was so caught up in my other one that I forgot to update here but hey here's a new chapter. It's kinda a filler but next chapter will be 10x better
