Vic's POVI was walking down the wooden steps towards the beach remembering one of our dates nearly six years ago. I had brought Taylor here and we spent the night laying on a blanket in the sand and teaching her guitar. It sounds cheesy but to us it felt perfect. I wanted to take her to a restaurant but she said no so I planned that. Since that date, we would come here and do whatever came to mind. After she left, this place has been some kinda safe place for me. I would come here to collect my thoughts and here I am again, coming back and doing the same. Alex and Taylor have been gone for two weeks now and I'm not gonna lie, I miss them like crazy for some reason. This Tay isn't the one I fell for long time ago simply because she's changed but she's still perfect.
Taylor's POV
I was at the park down the street from my house chasing Alex around the play set when a little voice called his name. I turned around to see Sophia, one of his day care friends running up to him followed by her mom Shannon. She was nice and so was her husband Daniel.
"Hey girl haven't seen you in forever. How've you been?" She asked sitting beside me.
"I've been good. How are you?"
"I've been good too. How was San Diego?" She asked
"It was good. Alex and I had fun"
"Well that's good. Did things work out with you and your baby daddy?" She asked smirking
"I think we're working on it. But I mean come on Shan, Michigan to San Diego. It's gonna be hard"
"Didn't you say that you miss it back in your hometown and would do anything to go back?" I nodded
"And don't you want to work things out with him and for Alex to have his father in his life everyday and not behind a screen?" I nodded again
"But although I miss my own hometown. This is Alex's I can't just drag him back to a place he doesn't know. He has so many friends here and I feel like it would be so rude to just break him away from them" I said looking at my son playing with Sophia.
"I know Tay. and I don't wanna control your choice but just know San Diego was always your home. You grew up there and only ran away because you were scared. Even if you move, we could still stay in contact" she was right. Now only for the staying in contact part but for the part that I don't belong here in Michigan. I'm a San Diego girl. Always has and always will be. Even though Alex is only three, I still wanna ask him and see if he'll be okay with the choice I make.It was now 3pm and we had just gotten home. I was making Mac and cheese for Alex when he came in the kitchen.
"And here's mommy" he said. I looked down at him to see he was on my phone facetimimg Mike
"Hi mommy" Mike said
"Hi mike" I placed Alex on the counter sitting down while I stirred the pot.
"Mommy is making me food" he said.
"Yes I am. I also have to talk to you after mister" I said. He nodded
"Do you have anything to tell uncle mike?" I asked.
"I took your hat" he said like it was no big deal.
"It's okay I have more"
"What Mikey you're teaching your nephew that stealing is cool?"
"No no no. If your boss is a dick it's cool. If it's your uncles hat it's awesome" I smiled and shook my head at the child on the other end of my phone.
"Alright Mikey Alex is gonna eat now. He'll call you later"
"Fine. Bye Alex"
"Bye uncle mike" and I took my phone to hang up before draining the water from the macaroni.Once I set the two bowls on the table, Alex came and sat in his chair while I sat across from him
"Baby?" He looked at me and cocked his to the side
"How would you feel about moving back to daddy's place?" I asked. He shrugged
"I like it here but I want daddy"
"What if we move there and live with him"
"I don't know" alright then. Guess it's up to me now.-----
Two weeks later
We were now on the plane once again but this time we were heading back for good. At least I'm hoping. I put all our furniture in a storage unite back in Michigan and put the apartment up for rent. All the clothes were packed and in luggages. We were about an hour from landing and Alex was watching Star Wars with my portable DVD player. Man he's obsessed.
Vic's POV
I was laying in the sand at the beach Tay and I always came to. The sun was setting and there was a perfect breeze. I was lightly strumming kissing in cars when I heard something.
"Fancy seeing you here stranger" I turned around and saw Taylor and Alex on the wooden steps. I got up and Alex ran over to me so I picked him up and spun him around. Tay came up to us and I pulled her in for a hug.
"What are you doing here?" I asked once we let go.
"Surprise Vic. I'm staying" my eyes grew big and I swear I had the biggest smile on my face. I pulled her in once again and this time we kissed. It was interrupted by a small hand trying to cut our lips apart
"That's yucky" Alex said causing us to laugh.
We sat down on the blanket I brought looked at the water.
"Sit on mommys lap kiddo" he did as told and I started strumming. As we wake up in your room,
Your face is the first thing I see,
The first time I've seen love,
And the last I'll ever need,
You remind her that your future would be nothing without her,
Never lose her, I'm afraid,
Better think of something good to say
But it's all been done, more than once so I'll keep on trying,
Oh God don't let me be the only one who says...
No! At the top of our lungs,
There's no, no such thing as too young,
When second chances won't leave you alone,
Then there's faith in love
She was always the one,
I'll repeat it again, the one,
No such thing as too young,
Red lights flash in the car we're kissing in,
Call me crazy,
I've always tried to remind her that the future's
Just a few heartbeats away from disaster.
I'm afraid that I've thrown it all away.
No! At the top of our lungs,
There's no, no such thing as too young,
Second chances won't leave you alone (won't leave you alone...)
No at the top of our lungs,
There's no, no such thing as too young,
Second chances won't leave you alone
(No)
We'll repeat it again,
There's no, no such thing as too young,
Second chances won't leave you alone,
'Cause there's faith in...
(Love)
If you kiss me goodnight,
I'll know, everything is alright,
Second chances won't leave us alone,
Won't leave us alone,
'Cause there's faith in loveOnce I ended the song I saw Tay smiling at me
"That's the song mommy sings" Alex said crawling back into my lap
"Yes it is baby. It's mommy's favourite song" Tay said to our son.
I opened my free arm and Tay leaned into it.
"I cherish moments like this you know" I told them kissing both their heads. Tay looked up at me and smiled
"So do I"It was around 10 when we decided to head back to my house.
"Say. How'd you get here?" I asked.
"I got to mike's house and he said you were there so I asked if he could drive us and that's what my Mikey did" she turned and smiled. I took hold of her hand with my free one and squeezed it.
"Yours to hold" she said
"Mine forever and always" I replied. The rest of the drive home was filled with yours to hold by skillet playing softly. Once we got there, we got out and I grabbed my son while Alex took my guitar and we went inside.I brought him upstairs to change since he was still awake and changed him into cars pjs. Soon Tay came up and went to take a quick shower. Once we got out, I did the same and then us three climbed into my queen sized bed, Alex in the middle, and we fell asleep. The first time we've ever done this and I could get use to it. I love this 'I'm a father and soon to be boyfriend' role.
Yes I know this chapter was kinda shit but I wanted them to move back to San Diego already and be with Vic!! The next chapter will be better I promise you that.
To the side/top is a photo of the place they always go to and also 'yours to hold' by skillet. It's a beautiful song.
Hope you guys are still sticking by me through this shitty chapter
