- Aurora at eleven months -
"..Good girl Rory! Go, walk to daddy!" Carrie-Ann encouraged.
Instead, she fell down onto her bottom and began to cry. Harry was quick to pick her up and soothe her. "It's okay, three steps is good enough for me." He kissed her.
Carrie-Ann couldn't believe she was now slowly but surely starting to walk. Her baby, was able to walk. She kissed the side of Aurora's head.
"I'm going to the office for a bit," She informed Harry.
"I'm going to take Rory for a walk,"
Carrie-Ann nodded. "Okay, her white gloves are in my handbag still."
He nods kissing her.
Carrie-Ann focused her afternoon on plotting story lines for a potential next book, skyping with Christopher Kane about her Burberry designs and answering at least two hundred emails.
She hadn't heard Harry and Aurora arrive back so she continued to work until Harry knocked lightly on her door asking her if she'd like to go out for dinner in a little while. She nodded promising to finish this last email.
As she clicked send she heard Aurora let out a shrill scream before crying hysterically, she could hear her shouting "mama". She had learnt to say it a couple weeks ago and although Harry was a little disappointed it wasn't "dada", she still sounded really cute.
Carrie-Ann'a mothering instinct alerted her that something bad had happened. Rushing downstairs to her she saw Aurora still crying as Harry rocked her side to side trying to soothe her.
"Mama, mama, mama." She cried reaching her arms out for Carrie-Ann.
She took her, rocking her to calm her. "What happened?" She asked.
"She rolled off the sofa, hit her face on the floor." Harry bit his lip guiltily. "I left her for a few seconds,"
"A few seconds is all it takes, you can't leave her alone H." She closed her eyes, it wasn't time to be arguing.
Taking her up to her room, Carrie-Ann gave Aurora some water to calm down. It wasn't necessarily if she hurt herself, with babies it's more the shock of falling than anything else.
She checked her over and thankfully all she had was a little red mark on her forehead that could potentially turn into a bruise but nothing life threatening. In her baby book they say babies falling from sofas and beds is common and nothing to worry about but it's the thought of it that scares Carrie-Ann more.
"Why don't we read a story?" Carrie-Ann asks once Aurora calmed down and finished her water.
She gets down her favourite book "How to catch a Butterfly" and sits them down on a plush cushion to read.
Harry quietly joins them, not disturbing Carrie-Ann from reading.
"..The end," Carrie-Ann smiled at Harry as she kissed Aurora's forehead.
"She okay?" He asks.
She nods. "Just a little bump, let's get dinner?"
He nods picking up Aurora and kissing her repeatedly. "Yeah,"
"I'll just change, could you put her in the pretty red dress, please?"
He nods. "Course,"
The second they pulled up to the restaurant the paparazzi were on them. Harry made sure Aurora was covered and Carrie-Ann kept her head down trying to ignore what they were shouting."How are you doing Carrie-Ann?"
"How come you haven't shifted all the baby weight yet?"
"Are you going on a diet?"
"Is it true you're all moving back to America?"
"What are you doing to lose the baby weight Carrie-Ann?"
There were a whole load of other questions, a lot directing towards her image and weight which she'd never had before but she knew to ignore it, Harry loved her for her and that was all that mattered. She didn't care if she had baby weight still, her body produced their daughter and it can't be any more perfect for that.
Inside they were given a private section so Aurora was able to sit in a highchair and not have to be protected.
When they ordered, they sat like the normal family they tried to be, talking and laughing. Watching Aurora grab for things off the table. Carrie-Ann gave her a carrot stick to keep her entertained.
"They were wrong you know, don't listen to them."
Carrie-Ann frowns. "Huh?"
"The paps," He answers. "About your body,"
She shakes her head. "I don't care what they say or think,"
He shrugs. "I know it can still get to you,"
He knew her better than she knew herself.
"..And I don't want you to go home and judge yourself in a mirror because of what a thirty year old virgin thinks."
She laughs squeezing his hand. "I do need to tone up for the wedding though, and the honeymoon photos." She teases.
They had booked to go to Fiji for their honeymoon. Harry had also booked for them to go to Venice straight after; they wouldn't fly to London but to Italy. Anne, Robin and Gemma had kindly offered to have Aurora even though Harry and Carrie-Ann considered taking her as they thought it would be nice to have her there, Anne told them to have their special time alone and that Aurora would be fine with her in Holmes Chapel.
"We could work out together, we never use the gym downstairs in the basement at home."
"True," She agreed. "You would really work out with me?"
He nods. "Of course. I've kind of let go since we're not touring or anything anymore, need to get back in shape especially now I'm running after this firecracker." He smiles combing his fingers through Aurora's thick hair.
She hadn't inherited his curls, she had dark brown locks however.
"Mama," Aurora called.
"Yes?"
Aurora giggled. "Mama,"
Carrie-Ann tickled her chin. "Do you just like calling my name?" She laughed.
Aurora's eyes twinkled. "Mama."
