Alone But Packed

Chapter 27

*Josh's POV*

As we walked down the dark hallway I noticed how narrow the halls really were. I thought they look small from the entry way, but it was worse when you get inside. There was only enough room for two people at the most to walk next to each other.

I glanced ahead of me, and caught sight of Kyle's beam moving in different directions. We had only just entered and we had no idea how long the hall was. I moved my flashlight up to look at the ceiling. I heard faint giggles coming from ahead of me, so I moved the light in that direction. It illuminated everyone in front of me......which was everyone since I was in the back. I saw Kyle at the front, followed by Cam, Mar and Dan who were walking hand in hand talking, then I saw Lizzy and Ty directly in front of me. Lizzy was laughing at something Ty had said. I watched them for a second and then I saw something I hadn't seen in a while......

Lizzy flipped her hair over shoulder! It wasn't the type of flip girls do just to move their hair out of the way, she does that too, when she does that it's just a simple shake of her head to move it out of the way. This one was different......she used her hand and flipped it over her shoulder. She did this when she likes someone. I've only see her do it a few times.....I don't know how many times she has actually done it though.

I looked from Lizzy to Ty and back to Lizzy. Does she like him? Well, obviously she does. Wait, more importantly.....Does he like her?

I looked back to Ty and watched him for a second. He looked at Lizzy and smiled, he leaned down and whispered something in her ear, her eyes grew wide as she looked up at him. I wondered what he said to her. But, then she laughed quietly and quickly moved her hand up to her mouth.

"No, I don't think that''s a good idea?" She shook her head.

"Why not?" He smirked.

"I don't think it's right." She widened her eyes slightly. Lizzy cocked her head to the side, looking up at him, "Then again it could work and it would be fun." She smiled. What were they talking about? It didn't make sense.....it sounded kind of strange.

"I knew you would agree." Ty smirked and shoved Lizzy playfully. I glared at the back of his head.

"We should do it now though before it's too late." She said and he nodded. They both turned around suddenly.

"Josh, turn off your flashlight." Lizzy whishpered to me.

"Why?" I asked suspiciously and my eyes flickered to Ty.

"Because we're going to scare Marie, and get back at her for all those times she's scared me." She responded.

"Oh, good," I said, they looked at me confused, "Cause I uh..." I cleared my throat, "So, what's your plan?" I asked.

They leaned in closer and told me the plan.

*Marie's POV*

Suddenly Josh's light flicked off behind us. I turned and stared into the darkness that was there.

"Josh, is everything okay?" I called. No answer. "Josh?" Still no answer. I shrugged and turned around and kept walking. Dan looked down at me and smiled and I smiled back up at him. We walked on in silence.

"Marie." A voice called behind me. I turned, but there was nothing there. "Marie." Another voice said again, but this time it came from beside me. "Marie." Still another called, this time slightly in front of me.

"Lizzy?" I called behind me. "Ty? Josh?" I called again. They still didn't answer. I turned back around and once again continued walking, wondering what was going on.

Suddenly I figured out what they were doing. Their trying to scare me because of all the times I've scared them. I smirked at this....too bad I figured it out. Except I still couldn't see them. I wasn't worried though because I knew they wouldn't hurt me just scare me and since I was more relaxed I could think of something. Just then though, there was movement on my right. I moved my eyes slightly in that direction, not giving away that I knew they were there. Suddenly I caught a whiff of a cologn that could only belong to one person......Josh. I smirked. I tracked him by his scent......he just continued to walk beside me though......then it got closer....and closer.....and I realised he was coming closer to me so I took this chance to take my phone out of my pocket. As he came closer still, I put the phone under my chin, quickly pressed a button on my phone and it lit up, illuminating my face suddenly.....

"BOO!" I yelled in Josh's face.....which was only about five inches from mine, as he was going to do the same to me with his flashlight. My shout and the light got everyones attention and everyone turned to look back at us.

"AHHH!" He yelled and sprang back. I burst into laughter, but I knew Ty and Lizzy were still somewhere in the dark....I could feel someone creeping up behind me.

"Lizzy don't even try." I warned without looking away from Josh. 

"How do you always know Mar!" She huffed in frustration. I turned and shone my light on her and Ty.

"Because I'm just that good." I smirked.

"I told you she was hard to scare." Ty chuckled.

"How did you know Josh was there though?" Cam smirked.

"Like I told you.....I watch a lot of crime shows.....makes you notice things around you more." I smiled at him. He shook his head and smirked.

"Whatever, let's go." Kyle said, but I could tell he was amused. I grabbed Dan's hand again.

"What made you really know he was there though? You didn't know what they were up to." Dan looked at me.

"That's for me to know and you not to, and they planned it badly." I smirked.

"How so?" He asked.

"I'm not going to tell you....you'll just use them against me." I chuckled.

"Oh, come on, would I do something like that to you, my girlfriend?" He smiled innocently. And my heart skipped a beat when he said girlfriend.

"Mmmmm hmmmmm." I muttered. He opened his mouth to say something else, but was cut off by Kyle.

"Hey look it's a room guys." He was pointing ahead to an opening that was just becoming visible through the dark.

We walked into a huge room that was at the end of the hall. Kyle ran the beam of light over the walls, until he found a light switch. He flicked it on and the room lit up.

"Looks like someone lived here." Cam said, motioning towards the cot, and scraps of food on a small table.

"Do you think it was one of the adults or someone that got in here somehow?" I asked.

"Well, whoever it was probably was an adult or already in here....I don't think they would be able to figure out how to get in like you did." Dan smiled at me.

"He's right." Ty nodded.

"Guys did you hear that?" Josh asked, looking towards the closet. There was something moving around inside. We backed away carefully. Josh pulled Lizzy behind him and Kyle did the same to me. Dan was holding onto my hand tightly. Something was pushing the door from the inside. I grabbed onto Kyle's shirt in fear and he reached his arm around and held me closer to his back. Suddenly the doors burst open and something came tumbling out along with a bunch of clothes and random objects. It was a person. When they stood up I saw it was a girl....and not just any girl.

"Amber?!?" Dan and I said at the same time. He sounded more confused and I said her name more as if it was poison.
