We pull up into the parking lot of an apartment complex. "What are we doing?" I ask, climbing out of the impala. Michael pulls up into the spot next to us and the three of them all pile out of the mustang.
"We're going to be here for awhile," Sam says. "Plus, we need a permanent address for you guys since you'll be in school."
I nod and grab my bag out of the trunk. "So," I say as we enter our four bedroom apartment. The walls are a light blue color and furniture is already neatly placed. "What's the story?"
"We're both your uncles," Dean says. "Michael told me you told everyone I was dead, so they wouldn't believe you if you said I was your father."
I feel my face turn red and I look down. Dean laughs a bit and grabs a beer out of the fridge. This place really came prepared for us. "Anyways. Carter is my daughter and Derek is Sam's son. Michael is our little brother if it comes up."
"So we're all Winchesters?" Derek asks, a slightly disgusted tone in his voice.
"Hey," Dean says, pointing a finger at him. "You shut it, wise guy."
Derek rolls his eyes. "Let me ask you one thing, though. I'm British. Sam isn't. What are they going to say to that?"
"You're adopted," Dean says with a smile. "Or foster care. You choose."
Derek rolls his eyes again. "I'd rather not be a Winchester."
I slap him on the shoulder. "Stop. It's just for a case. Besides, what's so wrong with being a Winchester?"
Derek smirks at me. "I can't kiss you if we're cousins," he says so that only I hear him. My eyes go wide and I feel myself blush. I quickly look to the others, but they are already talking about something else.
"Who's rooming with who?" Carter asks.
"There are four rooms," Dean says. "Sam and I get our own rooms. Derek and Michael share one, and then you and Emma share one."
"Alright," Michael says, grabbing his bag off the kitchen counter. "If that's all then, I'm going to sleep."
"Me too," Carter says. "I want to be awake for my first day tomorrow."
After the two of them leave the room, Dean looks up to me. "You should get some sleep, too."
I shrug. "I slept in the car. I'll go to bed in a bit."
"I'm going to scout of the area, Dean," Cas says. I had almost forgotten that the angel was here. Dean nods and then Cas is gone with a blink of the eye.
"Sam and I are going to do some research," Dean says and the two of them leave the room, leaving Derek and me alone.
I look down at my hands. It had been awhile since we were alone together. I'm always quick to leave the room before things got too awkward. I look up at him and I press my lips together. "I'm going to shower," I say.
He grabs my wrist and pulls me close to him. "You're always so quick to leave," Derek says, his breath hot on my cheek. "I feel like we haven't gotten much alone time."
I swallow hard. "I told you," I say. "We can't do this."
He rolls his eyes. "Oh stop it," he says. "I know you feel the same way, Emma."
Before I can stop him, his lips are on mine. I can't help but sink into him, but before it got too intense I pull back. "Derek," I say.
"What's going on?" Michael says. I look up, my eyes going wide. I quickly push away from Derek. Michael's eyes are laced with hurt and betrayal. "Emma?"
"I can explain," I say, stepping towards him, but he takes a step back.
"No," Derek says. "Let me. Emma and I were kissing. We've kissed several times before. She likes me but won't admit it. And let's be honest, Mike. I'm much more of a man for Emma than you are."
Michael leaps across the room, his fist colliding with Derek's face. They crash into the wall, Michael holding Derek by his collar.
"Hey!" Dean shouts, ripping Michael away from Derek. "What the hell is going on in here?"
"I came in here to see Derek and Emma kissing," Michael says, his voice breaking.
Dean turns to me, a disappointed look on his face. "Alright," he says. "You two aren't sharing a room anymore."
"Derek?" A new voice says and we all turn to see Carter standing there, her eyes brimming with tears. "Emma? What is going on?"
I feel like my head is about to explode and I race out of the room.
"Emma!" Derek calls out to me, but I hear Michael yell over him.
"Don't touch her!" He yells and I hear another crash. I run into my room and slam the door behind me. I lay down on my bed and cry until I fall asleep.

The car ride to school the next day was awkward, to say the least. Michael opted out from taking us to our first day and he wouldn't even look at me this morning. I can feel the anger radiating off of Carter and Derek has a black eye.
We pull up to school and Dean looks back at me. "You ready?"
I sigh as Derek and Carter climb out of the car. "No," I say. "But I never will be, so let's get this over with."
"Hey," he says, grabbing my hand. "You're going to be okay. And I'll talk to Michael."
I shake my head. "No," I say. "Don't. I can deal with it."
He nods his head. "Alright. Have a good day."
I smile and climb out. I look up at my old high school and take a deep breath. I'm already seeing familiar faces and people are starting to stare. I swallow hard and pull my backpack closer to my body. After mustering up as much confidence as I can, I take another deep breath and take a step forward.
A/N
Hey, guys! I just want to say sorry if this chapter isn't all that great! I'm really sick right now and kind of out of it haha. Also, I'm sorry it's so short. It's been awhile since I've updated and since I'm just hanging out in my dorm rather than going to classes I figured I would make good of my time! Hope you guys are loving the story! And thank you for all the reads and votes on The Hunter's Daughter! I really appreciate it!
XOXO
