I wake up to my alarm the next morning. I groan and smack my alarm clock around until I find the off button. For a moment, I think I am back home in my old bed, my mom waiting for me downstairs. But then I remember where I'm at and I groan even louder.

I wasn't home. I was here. In this crazy, messed up world. And things keep trying to kill me. Why? I have no idea. But it's really starting to piss me off.

I climb out of bed and slowly change into clothes for the day. This consists of leggings, a black tank top, and a blue plaid shirt. I walk to the bathroom next and take the brush through my tangled, blonde hair. I apply a little bit of make-up, not bothering to wing my eye liner like normal. After brushing my teeth, I make my way to the kitchen.

Derek sits at the counter, a bowl of cereal in front of him. Sam stands by the coffee pot, a beeping noise coming from it as he presses buttons. Castiel stands off to the side, observing. Michael walks in next. He opens the fridge and pours himself a glass of orange juice before retreating to the living room, his laptop tucked under his arm.

"Morning," Sam says, a smile on his face.

I glare at him and sit down as far away from Derek as possible. Sam raises his eyebrows at my attitude but doesn't say anything. Instead, he turns back to the coffee maker. "You ready for school?"

"Am I ever?" I ask, pulling the box of cereal, milk, and a bowl towards me. After pouring everything into my bowl, I take my spoon and mindlessly stir it.

Derek stands up and puts his bowl in the sink. "Got anything new for us to look out for?" He asks.

Sam shakes his head. "No. Not yet. Dean and I are going to try and see if we can speak with some of the teachers at your school. Scope out the area to make sure there aren't more demons running around."

I can't help but laugh at this. I've decided I won't tell them about my meeting from the night before. What's the point? All it's going to do is freak Dean out and then he's going to keep me under lock and key. Again.

"You okay?" Sam asks, turning to me.

"I'm just peachy," I say. I drop my spoon into my still full bowl with a loud thunk. I stand up and grab my backpack. "I'm walking to school."

Sam stops me. "Hey. That's like, a forty-five-minute walk."

I roll my eyes. "I know, Sam. That's why I'm leaving now." I push passed him and out the door. The crisp morning air stings my arms and I take a deep breath. The smell of rain fills my nose and after a moment's hesitation, I begin walking.

About thirty minutes into my walk, it begins raining. At first, it was a soft rain, but I as I neared the school, it turns into a downright pour and I quickly sprint the last couple meters.

By the time I make it, I am soaked head to toe and people are staring at me. Derek, Michael, and Carter all stand by the entrance and I try to make it passed them without them seeing me. I have no luck.

"Em," Carter says, grabbing my arm.

"What?" I snap, ripping my arm from her grasp.

She takes a step back, her eyes wide. "Wow, okay. I'm going to pretend you didn't do that," she says.

"What is it, Carter?" I snap.

All of their eyes widen. "What is wrong with you?" Carter shouts at me.

Michael shakes his head and pushes Carter back. "Hey, both of you. Knock it off. We have bigger problems."

I roll my eyes. "What happened?"

He glares at me and says, "Three more students went missing last night. All of them being those girls you were hanging out with the other day."

My eyes go wide. "Stacey and the girls?"

Derek nods. "Yeah," he says. "Emma. I am so sorry."

I shake my head. "Of course, you are," I snap.

"Emma," he says, taking a step forward, concern and confusion marking his face. "Are you okay?"

"I'm fine!" I shout at him. "Will you just stop it?"

"Stop what?" He shouts back.

I glare at him, tears pressing the back of my eyes. "Acting like you actually like me! Like you actually care!"

"Emma," Michael says, pushing me back. "This isn't he place for this."

"Don't touch me," I say, shoving him back. They all look at me like I've completely lost my mind. And, well. I guess I have.

I stare at them all and I shake my head. "Just leave me alone. Please."

"Emma!" Michael shouts after me as I run back outside into the rain. My hair sticks to my face in clumped up strands. I run pass students racing into school. My clothes stick to my body and I quickly find a tree to stand under.

I look behind me. I hadn't realized how far I had run, but the school is now just a tiny dot in the distance. I shiver against the rain and look around. I stand in a field, a few houses in the distance. I begin crying, my head hurting.

I stand there for a few more minutes before making my way towards the street. I walk down the street for a bit before coming to a crosswalk. I look both ways and quickly cross the street and head into town. I find a Wal-Mart a few minutes later and quickly make my way inside.

I get some strange looks from the workers and customers. I don't blame them. I probably look like an absolute wreck.

I find the nearest bathrooms and lock myself in the family one. I throw my bag on the ground and wipe my soaking wet hair from my face. I look in the mirror and nearly laugh at my appearance.

My mascara is running under my eyes and my hair is a matted mess. My clothes stick to my skin and as it dries, I begin to feel itchy all over.

I pick up my wet bag and dig around. Most of my things are ruined, but luckily my phone and wallet are fine. I try to wrench most of the water from my clothes and fix my make up as best as I can before I leave the bathroom again.

Still soaking wet and trailing water behind me, I make my way to the produce section. I buy myself a salad and pay for it. I hand the cashier a few damp dollars and smile at her. She gives me a disapproving look as I grab my salad and make my way back outside.

The rain has stopped and so I sit down on a ledge off to the side and eat my food. My phone rings and I see Dean's caller ID.

"Hello?" I say, answering the phone.

"Where the hell are you?" He yells into the phone.

"Wal-mart," I say, taking another bite of my salad.

I hear him give out a loud sigh. "She's at Wal-Mart," I hear him say. "Stay right there. We'll be there soon."

I roll my eyes and hang up. Might as well wait for them, I guess. I finish my salad and lean back. The sun begins to peek through the clouds, forming a rainbow. My clothes are still quite wet, but they are drying.

After a few minutes, I jump at the sound of my name. "Emma?"

I turn and see Stacey standing around the corner. "What do you want?" I ask, leaping off the ledge and make my way to the girl.

Her eyes go wide with fear. "What are you talking about? I need help!"

I cross my arms. "Yeah. Sure."

She glares at me. "Fine," she says. "If you're going to be like that." I gasp as a dagger is plunged into my stomach and I fall to the ground. I can't help but think about how there isn't anyone around to see this. Just my luck.

My vision goes black as I lay down, my face to the sky. The last things I see is a group of people standing over me, their eyes blacker than night itself.
