Dean drops his arms. "What?"
I walk into the room and sit down on the couch. "I stopped by the Henson's right? We talked about Abby and they told me that they have no idea where she went." I tell them everything they told me. When I'm done, Dean sits down on the couch and rubs his face with his hands.
"Demons," he says. "Always demons."
I look to Michael and see him staring at me. When our eyes meet, he quickly looks away and clears his throat. "Makes sense," he said. "That Johnny kid went missing without so much as a scream. Just vanished."
"Demon possession?" Derek says, sitting down uncomfortably close to me. He gives a small laugh. "I've never had to deal with demon's before. This should be fun."
I stand up and cross my arms. I walk to the other side of the room. I had moved closer to Michael without thinking and inwardly winced when I saw the glare that Derek threw at me. "How do we kill a demon?"
Dean sits up and leans back in the couch. "Many ways. One of the most effective being that we send it back to Hell."
"How do we do that?" I ask.
Michael sticks his hands in his pockets. "You need to create a demon trap," he says, not looking at me I noticed. "Once in there, we say a few words and then it's gone. As long as it never hurt the host, the host will be fine."
"Sounds easy enough," I say, uncrossing my arms.
Dean laughs. "It's not that easy, princess. First, we have to find the damn thing. Who knows where it's hiding."
"Then let's get started," I say. "Teach me everything I need to know about trapping and killing demons."
Sam walks into the room then, a couple grocery bags in his hands. Carter enters behind him, a few bags in her hands as well. "What's going on?" he asks. "We find out what we're dealing with?"
"Emma says it's demons," Dean says. Sam sighs but nods, leaving the room.
Dean stands up and points to Michael and Derek. "You two, I'm not done with you guys. We'll continue our conversation later."
After my dad leaves the room, Derek stands up with a loud sigh. "Someone come wake me up for dinner. I'm exhausted."
He leaves the room, passing Carter without a glance. Michael looks to her and she quickly nods before exiting the room.
I immediately feel the tension rise and go to make a quick escape, but Michael stops me. "Hey," he says. "We need to talk."
I press my lips together. "Can weak not do this right now? I just want to focus on the case and get out of here."
I look up and see tears brimming Michael's eyes. "Why didn't you tell me?"
"Please," I beg. "Not right now." I leave the room then, my own tears starting to spill. I just want to focus on the case right now. It would be one thing if I didn't personally know our missing victims, but since I do, it's starting to wear me thin.
Abby was my first friend here. She was there with a few kind words when nobody else was. She graduated last year, much like how I was supposed to, but she was friends with a lot of people a year behind us. She's the reason why I'm friends with Stacey and the other girls in the first place.
Abby was also one of the more popular girls in school. She was friends with everybody but mostly hung out with Stacey. Which is why I as surprised when she starting talking to me. I don't really see myself as that kind of person. But because of her, for the few short months I went to school there, people knew my name and my face. Which is why being back is so difficult to me. All day people kept coming up to me, asking me where I had disappeared to. I would tell everyone the same story over and over again.
