I open my eyes groggily before remembering where I am. My blue eyes shoot open and land on the wolf.
He is still sleeping, but now his breathing is even. Beneath his thick black fur I can see he is well muscled.
I blush(as much as a wolf can) and get to my paws.
I pad off to find a meal, eventually returning with a wild turkey.
The wolf is awake now and he raises his head, fear clear in his eyes.
I wonder why he would be afraid of me since he is obviously bigger and stronger.
Then, I gasp, my prey dropping to the ground.
At his neck, a string of gems almost identical to mine rest. The large jewels were a bright yellow that I now see matches his eyes.
I hesitate, not sure what to do. Should I ignore it? Or just leave him here?
A part of me growls inwardly at the thought of being separated from him.
No, I would help him get better I decide.
I approach cautiously and drop the kill I had picked up in front of him. I settle down nearby to watch him.
He seemed unsure and warily snatched it up before devouring it. Licking his muzzle he stares at me cautiously.
"I'm Owl" I say.
"Crow" he replied, still eyeing me like he expected me to attack.
"Are you thirsty?" I ask him and he nods slowly.
I walk towards him and help him stand. I guide him to the stream and by the time we reach it he's panting.
We both drink and I clean his wounds the best I can, before I help him to my den.
He collapses as soon as we reach it and passes out. I settle down beside him to guard, because the smell of blood might attract other predators.
