Y/N's POV

The canteen seems tight and quiet for some reason. I've realized that my friends really do bring up life in the table. Funny how I notice that now that they're not here. Marco and I are already sitting together, actually. We haven't said a word ever since we sat down. Is it one of the reasons why it's so tight and quiet?

No one speaks unless someone does the honors first. I'm afraid of messing things up. I don't even know what to say. So, this is my lunch story where I get a heart attack because of over thinking stuff.

I think I'll just do it first. "So," Unfortunately, we both say in unison. "Oh, you go first!" And again. We hold in our laughs but we can't help it and burst out in giggles. "Sorry, I just don't know what to say." I apologize. "We both don't."

The silence goes on again. I have to cut the silence before it turns to awkward. I should probably ask him about our friends, "Have you seen them lately?" I ask.

He shakes his head, "If you're referring to Star, Janna, Jackie and Yusi. Then, no."

He hasn't seen them either. I'm starting to get all worried for them. Something might've happen to them. You know how Janna starts to convince do things that aren't illegal. What if they're in jail?

That's possible but I also can't argue with the fact that Star and Yusi can overpass that. With Jackie and her mature-like attitude, she's got to be the adult in the group. Anyways, it's fun. They must have a great adventure.

Yeah, that's it. I shouldn't worry about a thing. I have to trust them, even just an ounce of faith.

Plus, they couldn't possibly plan this out anyways. Psh, I discovered it just yesterday. They didn't... did they?

"Is something wrong?" Marco questions. I snap back to reality, "Uhm, no, not at all. I-uhh," Shit. Shit. I can't think of an excuse. Then, I saw Lucas. "...it's just, Lucas hasn't said a word to me ever since um, yesterday." I grin like it was a good excuse.

His face drops down in emotion, "Oh. Lucas, huh? Is he like, your boyfri-"

"No! No! It's not like that. We're just great friends." I blurt, defensively. He laughs softly, "Okay, okay. I get it. Sorry." He curves his lips into a cute smile.

Damn Diaz, back it again with that cute face.

"Sorry I have to ask that." He regrets. "It's fine. What made you think he was?" I query.

He blushes, "Uhh, nothing. I notice that you two are really close." He bows his head. "Nothing special." He shrugs.

Oh god, that's sincerely cute.

I redden, while staring at the table subconsciously, "Cute." I whisper. In that case, I recognize that I spoke my mind too loud which cause me to react all of a sudden. "Oh, I-I mean, err-dammit!" I lowly curse to myself in embarrassment.

He chuckles, "You're cute too." With his reply, that made me calm down and smile in satisfaction, still blushing a little. "Y-Yeah, thanks," I need a distraction. I can't face him any longer. I'm timid for what I said. "I think, I'll go get us lunch." I stand up from my chair. He grabs hold of my hand which cause my attention. "Sorry, let me get it." He offers, almost getting out of his chair. I raise my hand up, "Please. I insist." I dictate politely. He lets go and nods his head, "Okay, sure."

I give him a warm beam then, directly walk to today's menu.

Marco's POV

"Stupid!" I clench my teeth, banging my fist unto the table.
