Marco's POV

Tomorrow's the event. It's been two days since Y/N invited me to her occasion. It's quite a shock that she chose me to be there, as a special guest. I haven't received or heard anything from her regarding it. The only thing I have so far is the invitation card. I didn't tell my parents about it yet. So, I think I'm going to inform them later on. I know, I'm such an irresponsible idiot.

"Tomorrow." I whisper to myself. It's unbelievable that she invited me instead of other thousands of students in this entire school. I'm so... flattered. I shut my locker close.

"Hey, Marco." I hear her voice from behind. I face back, witnessing her delicate face. My cheeks instantly heat up. "Y-Y/N! Hey...um," I stammer while she giggles. "Yeah, hi. I was gonna ask you if you want to walk with me to our next class." She says. Wow, she's amazingly straightforward. Compared to me I still need enough courage and confidence to talk to her or ask her out.

I simply do a nod. She tilts her head, dimpling. Oh, god that's cute. We both stroll our way into our next class which is Science. I like Science, it's like Math but different. You get what I mean.

"So, do you like Science?" I interrogate. Well, I have to start at least a conversation anytime now. She looks at me with a down expression, "Uh huh, sure." She shrugs, plastering a weak smile on her face.

"You don't look... sincere though," I state. She sighs while closing her eyes, "Actually, no. I don't like Science but I don't hate it too." She clarifies, her eyes looking straight ahead. "How come?"

She stops walking when I ask. I did as she did. I shouldn't have asked that, have I? She rubs her arm, slightly gluing her eyes on the ground. "It's... not a good story I like to recall." She clears out.

"Oh, it's okay if you don't wanna talk about it. I didn't mean to. In fact, I'm so sorry." I apologize. I am such a screw up. Why did I even dig in and ask questions? Real smooth.

She raises both of her hand and jazzes, "No, no, no! It's okay, really. You didn't know." She fakes a smile and continue to walk. She didn't say a word ever since. I kept on hitting myself internally and going on about how I'm such a mess.

We got into class just in time. As usual, everyone would rush into Y/N. So, I'm all alone. Great. I didn't even want to show my shameful face to her ever again.

I sit down on a chair near the door, away from Y/N. Her fangirls and fanboys annoys her to the death. Seriously, she needs space and time alone. I face the board and sit up tight. I let out a deep sigh, placing my elbow on the table with my palm supporting my cheek.

I sense someone tap me on the shoulder, "Hey, Marcooo!" Only one person would do and sound like that. "Yusi, stop yelling!" I warn her. She puts her hand on her mouth, "Oh, sorry." She whispers.

At the corner of my eye, she moves her head, looking at Y/N. Come to think of it, why isn't she at Y/N's table? Isn't she going to gush over her? She did mention that she's obsessing over Y/N.

"Why aren't you approaching her? Aren't you like, a fan of her?" I question. Yusi instantly looks at me and smiles, "When I approached her the last time, it didn't seem like she'd consider me a fan like one of those students," She pauses, battering her eyelashes while looking down, then back to me.

"She considers me as a friend."

"Pop quiz everyone! Go back to your seats." Ms. Woods announces. The class groans in unison.

"We'll talk later." Yusi whispers, laying back to her seat. I nod.

A friend, huh?

The students blabber because of the pop quiz. What's wrong about it? I think it's a great idea to influence and encourage students to become more active for sudden events such as, well, a pop quiz.
