I pushed the stubborn door to our duplex open and saw Olivia sitting on the couch.

"Hi lady," I said, flopping onto the recliner by the door, my legs hanging over the side.

"How was work?" She asked, flipping through the channels so fast it was a wonder how she knew what was on them.

"Work," I said with an overly dramatic sigh.

"Was Rafe working?" She asked, referring to my extremely good looking co-worker. I nodded, "Do you think you'd ever go out with him?"

"Nope."

"Why?" She asked,

"Because guys suck," I answered.

She snorted. "You sound like me before I realized I was gay."

"Ugh. I know. When did I become so bitter?" I asked. She let out another laugh, finally stopping on Maury. We sat and watched, laughing often whenever someone would say something ridiculous.

After, we were silent, so when she spoke, it made me jump.

"Ricky called when you were at work," she said. I immediately grabbed my phone. Speed dial #4.

"Is everything okay?" I questioned her. She didn't answer before a voice came onto the other end.

"Hello?"

"Is everything alright? Are you okay? Is Chr-" I started but stopped myself. I could hear him chuckling.

"Everything is fine Kar," he said, a smile evident in his voice.

"I was just checking. Olivia said you called while I was at work," I said, playing with my hot pink acrylic nails.

"We're coming to Dallas, and I wanna hang out," he said. "I miss you."

I grinned. "I miss you, too, Ricky."

"Is that a yes?" He asked, hopeful. I bit a hang nail.

"Depends."

"You won't have to see Chr-"

"Don't say his name," I said, pushing my blonde bangs out of my face.

"I'm sorry," he said.

"Okay," I said finally. I could hear voices in the background.

"Uhh, I gotta go. I'll text you," he said and the line went dead.

I put my phone on my stomach. Olivia gave me a curious look. "They're coming to Dallas."

"When?" She asked, flipping through the channels again.

"I don't know," I said, grabbing my phone again. I texted Ange.

Me: Hey. When are you guys gonna be in Dallas?

Angelo: In 5 day.

"Fuck," I said aloud.

Me: Okay, thanks boo.(:

Ange: Welcome babe.(:

I smiled at the names we called each other then stood.

If they were gonna be here next week, I had to make sure I was no where near Starbucks.
