Chapter 3

The bell just rang, indicated that schools over. As always Kyle and Luke are headed home together, since their houses are near one another.

Kyle sighed. "At least schools over."

Luke nodded. "Yes, but the day is not over yet, so don't get your hopes up."

Kyle grimaced. "Thanks a lot! Mr. Hope Crusher, I feeeel so much better now!"

Luke rolled his eyes. "I was being realistic, unlike you."

"Hey! What's wr....!" Kyle abruptly stopped when he heard something.

Both boys were passing an alley as they walked and heard a loud scream, so full of pain, that it sent both shivers in their body.

Both of them looked at each other pale faces and nodded. Luke went first to see what happened, followed by Kyle. They tried to be discreet and careful. When they got closer, Luke motioned Kyle to wait, to which he nodded nervously. Luke was now walking silently ,and looked inside the alley. He must have saw something dreadful, for he paled dramatically, eyes widen with fear and shocked, and mouth agape. Kyle after witnessing his friend's reaction, rushed beside him, maintaining his stealth. He was about to put his hand on Luke's shoulder, if he did not look inside the alley first. His blood ran cold at the sight that greeted him.

What he saw was a corpse of a man or a woman, he could not tell, and the smell of copper in the air, but that was not what he was dreading. It was hidden in the shadow, thought hidden its form is still apparent. It 

was about 6ft. or more, its body was big and bulky, and has sharp jaws, since it seems to be eating the corpse, spilling its blood and guts.

It must have smelled us, Kyle thought. As it stopped eating, sniffed its nose and immediately looked at where they were. It walked oh so slowly to them, as if it was playing with its prey. When it stepped out of the shadows, where the light shines. Both boys gasped at what they saw. Since it was not hidden now, it view is seen to all. It was disgusting, with its greenish skin, its facial features were grotesque, like a mixture of an ape and a pig, small black eyes, and sharp jaws.

Kyle unfroze and opened his mouth, he was about to say run to his friend, but what he said surprised even himself.

"Orc."
