Even though we knew we were expecting Ben we never got a nursery ready for him. Fang's poor health just kept everyone busy and distracted from worrying about it. The hospital room was a necessity at the time.

Even though he is a month old now, it still hasn't been done. I've been too, I don't know the word, I just haven't done it. I didn't mind Ben sleeping in my room, maybe eventually he would sleep in my bed. If I can handle replacing Fang's spot. Besides clothes that's the last thing I have of him.

Even when I was able to sleep I couldn't sleep. It was about 4 am when Ben woke up again. Dylan quietly came in and took Ben to feed him. I heard him go to the kitchen, pull the bottle out of the fridge, and warm it up in the microwave for a few seconds. I heard Ben fuss for a few seconds before Dylan started shushing him and placing the bottle in his mouth.

I think I finally dozed off for a few hours, because when I opened my eyes the sun was out.  I got up and went into the bathroom. I splashed water on my face, then patted it dry. I pulled my hair up into a messy bun, then started brushing my teeth. I rinsed my mouth and went into my bedroom over to my closet. I pulled on a clean loose navy v-neck, and black leggings. This is basically the routine every morning. Boring. My mom and Ella no longer stayed with us, the flock started staying in their homes again. Dylan lived here with me and Ben, so it was basically just the three of us all the time.

Ben was sleeping in his bassinet, soundly. I went to the kitchen and grabbed a granola bar and a glass of chocolate milk. Dylan was gone, again. Everyday he would leave for a few hours, sometimes a few times a day. I had no clue why, or where he went when he left. But he would come back acting kind of weird for a little while, then he would go back to normal.

A few minutes after I had finished my small meal, not really a meal, Ben woke up. I went to the bedroom, scooped him up with a tired smile.

"Hi Benny." I laid him on my bed and started undressing him. I changed his diaper, and put dark gray long sleeved onesie on him, pulling black footie sweats onto his legs. I picked him up, with his navy blanket, and went out to the living room.

Angel was sitting on my couch, reading a book." Hi Max, how's Benny?" She asked not looking up. I couldn't believe I hadn't noticed how mature Angel was getting. Her blonde curls had relaxed a little, and they were down to her waist, she was still slim, but getting very tall, she was catching up to me. Even her face had changed, she looked older, she wasn't a baby anymore.

"He's doing good, still waking up through the night. Not as often though." I sat on the couch next to her.

"So you're getting more sleep, and eating." She emphasized.

"Yes." I laughed. Man I felt like the child.

"Okay, I just wanted to check on you." She smiled, and hopped to her feet, looking over Ben," Benny, hi, it's aunty Angel, Nudge will be over later with lunch." She smiled at Ben, who had his eyes open.

"Okay." Dylan landed on the front porch and walked in.

"Hey guys." He smiled.

"I'll see you guys later," Angel put her hands behind her back, leaned over to Dylan, and whispered something to him, then left.

"How's Ben?" He sat next to me, touching Ben's cheek.

"Hungry, I was just about to feed him." I cradled him as I pulled down my shirt, and allowed him to eat.

"Well when you're done I gotta show you something." He smiled," but for now, do you need anything?"

"No I just ate, and drank some milk." I smiled looking at a baby magazine.

"What did you eat?" He questioned.

"A granola bar." I said inaudibly.

"What?" He looked at me.

"A granola bar!" I rolled my eyes.

"I'm gonna get you more." He went to the kitchen.

Ugh, this was everyday. I swear everyone was force feeding me. I just wasn't hungry. At least I was drinking a lot of water! Dylan came back with a scrambled egg sandwich with toasted bread." Eat please?" He handed me the plate, and he took Ben who was done eating by this time.

"Fine." I took a few bites then I was done. I seriously was not hungry at all.

"Okay, are you ready?" He smiled excitedly.

"Ready for what?" I drank some water.

"C'mon, follow me." He led me down the hallway, to the room straight at the end. Where the hospital room used to be.

There was a crooked square sign on the door," Ben's Room." It read. I looked at Dylan a little confused.

"Open it." He smiled, cradling Ben in his arms. I turned the knob and stepped in.

First thing I noticed was how bright it was in here, Dylan had installed windows. When my eyes adjusted I noticed the walls were painted a very light grey, and a few pictures hung on the walls, two that I specifically noticed was Fang cuddling with my belly, and the other was of me and Fang looking at newborn Ben for the first time. I quickly looked away.

All the furniture was black. A dresser in the closet to the right, where some of Ben's clothes hung. A crib straight in front of me, with gray and navy blankets, sheets, bumpers, and skirt. A 4 square organizer to the left with a gray changing pad on top. Then in the left corner was a warm nook with a glider, side table, lamp. And In the middle of the floor which was grey carpet by the way was a white fur rug. In the organizer was diapers and wipes, books, and a few rolled up swaddling blankets.

This room was amazing.

"Oh check this out." He flipped off the light switch, then flipped the one next to it on. Tiny twinkling lights on the ceiling lit up. This room was even cooler!

"Oh my gosh, Dylan, this is amazing." I had tears welling up in my eyes.

"You like it?" He smiled at my reaction. He turned the lights back on.

"Why did you do this?" I asked still looking at everything in awe.

"Because Ben needs his own place here too. Plus I think it's a good birthday present for him." He shyly smiled.

"Thank you Dylan." I hugged him, with tears streaming down my face.

"Your Welcome, it was no problem." He wrapped his arm around me and sighed happily.
