"Ugh, I can't believe we only have two days left before we have to go back home, and then its baby time." I said rubbing my large belly as I sat on the shoreline looking out into the ocean.
"It's exciting." Dylan reclined next to me, gently rubbing my belly as well, trying to feel for kicks." It's also been an amazing two weeks." He leaned and started to kiss me, bring his hand to my neck, kissing me long, hard, and passionately. We slowly laid back in the sand, kissing one another, until a very painful cramp shot through my abdomen, and I winced Dylan pulling back." You okay?" I had my eyes clenched shut, my face scrunched up, as I tried to breathe, that came out more like groans. When it finally passed I opened my eyes poking at Dylan's concerned look.
"I'm okay. I think I should go lay down." I lifted my arms so Dylan could help me to my feet, he helped me waddle over to the bed, and lay me down. He covered me with the blankets, and darkened the room for me, kissing my forehead.
"I'll be out on the beach if you need me." He said gently as he left. I fell asleep quickly once I was comfortable, it was about six o'clock when I fell asleep. Only to be woken at mid night by horrendous cramps, I breathed loudly trying to work through it." Max, you okay?" Dylan spoke in a groggy voice, rolling over, putting an arm around me.
"I think this is it." I grunted through the pain.
"What?" He was still half asleep. The cramp finally stopped, as I took several relaxed breaths.
"This is it, I'm in labor, the babies are on the way." I looked at him, and it finally sank in. He jumped up in panic.
"This is it the babies are coming?" He said in pure panic.
"Dylan please don't panic, that won't make anything any better." I said calmly even though my heart was fluttering quickly in my chest.
"Okay, okay, I'm sorry." He came to my side holding my hand." Do you know how far apart the contractions are?" He asked.
"No yet." I sucked in a pained breath, as another hit me, trying really hard to breath through it.
"Okay, okay, you can do this, breathe." Dylan instructed, and I could hear him breathing deeply as we waited for the contraction to pass." They're six minutes apart, we won't make it back home in time." He said.
"No, I need to go home." I said with panic in my voice.
"Look, we will have to pack up, get a car, get on our plane, then drive to the coast, and fly home, there is no way you would make it home." He explained, and I felt tears start to drop from my eyes.
"I'm scared." I sobbed, Dylan pulled me into his chest.
"I'm gonna call everyone, and let them know what is happening okay?" Dylan said softly.
"Okay." I sniffled.
"Try and rest I'll be back in a few minutes." He lift swiftly out the back door with his phone in hand. I looked down at my large belly gently rubbing my hands over it.
"You decided to come now?" I said irritated, as another painful wave was sent through my body, as I panted and breathed loudly. Dylan rushed back in at the end of it, sitting behind me allowing me to lay back against him.
