(Ruthie's POV)

I stared down at the phone as the dial tone sounded; I grew angry and threw the phone at the wall. "Pixie," Michael voice sounded softly behind me however I didn't turn to look at him. "It's going to be okay Pix," he continued coming to sit next to me. He put his arm over my shoulders as I leaned into my brother. "Do you want talk about it?"

"He never said what he called for," I replied.

"That's because he didn't call, I called him," Michael admitted.

"What?" I asked louder than I should have moving away from him,

"I'm the one to call him, and asked him to talk to you," he repeated.

"Explain now, and not just calling Christian, I want an explanation for everything." I demanded, he nodded and turning so he was facing me.

"Okay, by making sure that no one touched you I thought I was protecting you from getting hurt. Look what happen when I let Jace through, you got hurt. When I figured out that you we're dating Christian, I just couldn't imagine my best friend, one person who I trusted with my life and your life, hurting you. I didn't even wanting him to have a chance to hurt you. Now I see that maybe by protecting you, I'm hurting you. When I think back to the past I should have notice something, and I know Christian cared for you, I just didn't know how much till now. I can also now see how much care for him. I just don't want to see you hurt, like with Jace." He explained.

"Michael, you're my brother, and I love you, you always took care of me when no one else did. But I'm not a child anymore Michael. I can take care of myself now. I will always need my brother, but you can't protect me from everything. I need to learn how to protect myself. And Christian isn't Jace, I can't say he'll never hurt me, but I can say he never internally hurt me. You have to let me experience everything I can including the painful things, I'm grown up, and take care of myself." I told him.

"I know, I realize that now, and I'm sorry I didn't before. You know the bro code rule number one is best friend sister is off limits, and I never even thought a second about Remy being your best friend. But you saw we liked each other and we were miserable apart." He said as Remy came into the room sitting next to him, he smiled at her slinging his arm around her waist. "Thinking back to the past month, I should have known. I should have known way before, the way he looks at you; he's never looked at anyone else that way. I can clearly see now how much he loves you. He the cares about you as much as I do, and your right he never intentionally hurt you."

"What are you saying?" I asked confused.

"Go to him Ruthie, if you love him, and he loves you as much as you claim, and he makes you happy, then I'm okay with it, I approve. Not that I have a say." He stated.

"Go to him Rose," Remy finished as I smiled hugged them both, grabbing my keys, headed out the door, jumped into my car, and drove to the person that holds my heart.
