Josh's P.O.V.
I finished eating my waffles and stayed looking at Tyler for a while.
Tyler Joseph. That one guy that I never thought I would fall for so hard, yet I did anyway. I really liked that guy. He seemed to make me happier than I've felt in a long time. I haven't felt like that ever since I found out I was going to have a sister.
I laid my arms beside my thighs. In a moment of obliviousness, I rested my right hand on Tyler's left and quickly jolted my hand away. I felt my cheeks get hot and buried my face into the sleeve of my black hoodie. I felt Tyler's gaze land on me, but I couldn't resist but to look into his gorgeous brown eyes. I began to get lost in them against my own will. It wasn't like I didn't want to, but I just wanted to be able to control my feelings.
Without warning, Tyler grabbed the remote, went straight to Netflix, and turned on Merlin. I saw that he hadn't yet watched it, either that or he finished it, and began watching episode 1. I haven't watched it myself yet, but I had been wanting to try it out.
My eyes averted to the screen immediately and a smile lit up my face. I already was enjoying it, even though we've only been watching it for five minutes. I liked the sorcerer's smile, that was for sure. I enjoyed how his eyes crinkled at the corners when he smiled. It reminded me a lot of Tyler's smile, but it was also much different.
Tyler looked over at me with his bright eyes and I looked back at him. Him and his adorable brown eyes made me smile every time I saw them. My face lit up and I gathered up the courage to lace my fingers with his. He looked shocked at first, but he soon relaxed and sunk into the couch. He tilted his head and rested it on my shoulder. I absolutely melted at how cute he was when he did that. It really felt like I was home, here with Tyler. I really saw me and him in a relationship. I didn't care if I was gay, but I knew there would be judgment, mostly from Debby and my parents. I already knew what Debby would say. It would be something along the lines of 'you really left me for him?' or something like that.
I looked down at Tyler as his eyes were focused on the television screen and I held back a huge grin, causing it to only be a slight smirk. I softly stroked his arm and I felt his cheek warm on my shoulder. I knew that this would be my morning pretty often now. I enjoyed that, being with Tyler in the morning.
I felt Tyler shift beside, and he soon pushed himself up to his feet.
"Joshua, just give me a minute, alright? I gotta call someone." He said, and walked into his bedroom.
I heard his voice through the thin, barely insulated walls.
"Hey, Mackenzie. Is Ashley home?" He asked. I just assumed Mackenzie and Ashley were a couple of his friends.
"Ash! I took your advice, and it's all good now. I got it all under control. I'm happy with the whole situation now. Thanks, Ash." There was a small pause before he spoke up again. "Yeah, I'll talk to you later. Bye, Ash! Tell Mackenzie good luck at her audition tomorrow!"
I sat back up straight and my eyes followed him as he came back to his original spot. "Who was that?" I asked, not wanting to sound to rude.
"Oh, just Ashley and Mackenzie Conners. Ashley was the one that gave me the advice to go to your door and talk to you in the first place. You can thank her for last night." He replied confidently. I never heard him speak like that before. He was always so quiet and liked keeping to himself.
"Well, I hope I can meet her some day. And her sister."
"You can. I invited them for lunch tomorrow. Both of them. I hope you can make it."
"Yeah, I actually just sent in my resignation letter to work. I decided to take up music instead. I'm looking forward to meeting your friends." I answered. I just quit work at that goddamned restaurant so that I can do my real dream, music. I always wanted to drum in a band, and now I have the chance. I was called for a record deal yesterday and all I need is a singer. I just hoped Tyler could sing.
I smiled and squeezed Tyler's shoulder and his nose pressed against my neck briefly. I must say, I did enjoy that way more than I should have. I looked down to his face, only to see that his eyes were shut tightly. Oh, god. That was a bit too adorable for me. I nuzzled the top of his head, brushing against his fluffy chocolate-coloured hair. This would be a relationship I was looking forward to.
