Josh's P.O.V.
The next morning, I was awakened by a loud knocking on the door followed by a shout.
¨Josh! Hurry your ass up and answer the door!¨ I would recognize that shout anywhere. I ran over to the door and swing it open. Standing at the door, with suitcases and carry-ons, were my two sisters, Abigail and Ashley.
I immediately brought both of my sisters into a tight embrace. "Oh, I'm so happy you guys came to visit. Oh! By the way, I found someone new after Debby."
Both of their eyes lit up and bright smiles brightened their faces. "Really? Who is it? What's her name?" Abigail asked with a tone of curiosity in her voice.
I scrunched up my nose and later relaxed my face. "Actually, his name is Tyler Joseph." I replied.
Both of my sisters were shocked. They had no idea that their brother had any feelings toward guys. They were surprised, but overjoyed. Ashley was the first to say anything. "Wow! When can we meet him?"
"I mean, he might come over later. You could talk to him then! He lives in this building."
Abigail grabbed Ashley's bag and placed it to the side where it was out of the way. Then, Ashley proceeded to sit on the couch and make herself at home. "This place could really use come cleaning up." She recommended, looking around at my apartment.
"I know. I kind moved here not too long ago, so I'm still getting used to it." I brushed a finger across the ugly pine green wall. "I really want to paint these walls, but I'm only planning on living here for a short while. Plus, I quit my job at the cafe. So I need a new job."
Abigail looked at her brother like he was crazy. She had one eyebrow raised and she bit her bottom lip. She then gasped and a smile came onto her lips. "Hey! There's this job downtown that'll hold you up! I saw an ad in the paper. It's at a music store. You could teach some kids drums!" She was almost too excited about that.
But I was too. So that was okay. "Sounds great! I'll go there tomorrow, after you guys leave."
"Awesome! Can't wait to see our brother get a real job outside of that restaurant. God, I hated that place. The food wasn't even that good." Ashley criticized the small cafe I used to work at. Personally, I didn't like it too much either. It was all frozen food, nothing fresh at all. But what do you expect from a restaurant like that one? It was basically a ripoff of Smitty's or something like that.
I laughed slightly at her comment before I heard a quiet knock on the door. Tyler. I rushed to the door and swung it open. That little brunet was standing in front of me. I felt my sisters looking over my shoulder at him. I could also feel their cheesy smiles.
Tyler embraced me, and I hugged him tightly back. Abigail and Ashley's excitement grew with every moment. Ty was the first to separate, so I did the same.
"So, Abigail, Ash, this is Tyler. Tyler, these are my sisters, Abigail and Ashley." I introduced them as I stood between the three new acquaintances. "Abigail here came up with a new job for me that I would actually like."
"Really? What's that?" Tyler asked in a hushed voice. I could tell that he was intimidated by the new people in my apartment.
"Teaching kids to play drums at the music store on Main Street. It sounds pretty cool."
"I could sing, if there are lessons there for that." He requested. I looked to Abigail who just shrugged.
"I saw that there was openings for anyone who wants to teach any music lesson, so I guess there's singing lessons."
Tyler immediately perked up and a large grin formed on his lips. "Yay! I'll do that!" Once he was comfortable, he was really sweet and happy. At least sometimes he was. I wasn't sure what he was like when he was alone. Hopefully he was the same. I liked him like that.
"Looks like we can both get a job together. But we'll apply tomorrow after these two go back home. By the way, if you're only here for a day, why did you guys bring suitcases?"
Ashley rolled her eyes at my apparent obliviousness. "Um, we're girls? We need makeup, hair stuff, extra clothes just in case, and pyjamas! Don't you know anything about us? You're our brother, for Christ's sake."
"Right. Sorry." I replied sarcastically. I couldn't help it if I was male instead of female. How was I supposed to know what they needed?
Tyler stood there quietly for a moment before finally breaking his silence. "So, what was it like living with Joshua when he was a kid?"
Both the sisters laughed and Ashley spoke. "He was annoying. And loud. Very loud."
"Yeah, I could see that. Although, he has calmed down a little bit. At least, I hope he has." He chuckled. I saw that he was enjoying himself. He wasn't shying away from Ash and Abi, which I expected him to. He seemed...happy. Perky, even. And I was glad for that.
