Tyler's P.O.V.
It was the day I would finally get to meet up with Mack and Ash, and I couldn't wait. I haven't seen them since I graduated high school. Which was like ten years ago. Sure, I spoke to them on the phone, but I haven't seen them in person since that time.
I dialled Josh's number on my phone and awaited his answer.
I heard his voice through the phone after two rings. He obviously just woke up, judging by the tone of his voice. "Hello?"
I replied, my voice bright and happy. "Hey, Josh. You ready for our meeting with Ashley and Mackenzie?" I asked.
He gasped me I heard a mixture of blankets ruffling and the springs of an old bed squeaking. "Oh, God. I'm late, aren't I?"
"No, we should just be leaving in about an hour." I calmly assured him. "Just be over here, dressed and ready in fifteen minutes."
"Okay, no problem. Just give me a few minutes, I'll be right over." He answered and hung up. I knew he was in a huge hurry.
It took about five minutes for him to arrive at my apartment with a plaid shirt and jeans on. "I'm ready." He stated, standing with his hands down to his sides.
"Good. Come on in." I stepped out of the way, allowing him in. He walked in a looked around a little before turning back to me.
"So, fifty-five minutes until we leave. Do you really think they'll like me?" He asked, very nervously. I saw him rubbing his hands together. That was the number one sign of nervousness. At least from what I've noticed.
I placed my hand on his shoulder and looked into his eyes. "Don't worry. In sure they'll absolutely adore you. What's not to love?"
I saw him blush at my assurance and his eyes travel to my lips. My heart jumped and I did the same. His lips moved closer to mine, as did mine.
Finally, our lips connected and my heart completely melted. That was the moment I had longed for my entire life.
I was quite ashamed to say, I had never kissed anyone before. That is, until that day. That was my first kiss, ever.We parted our bodies and our eyes met. I tried to speak, but no words were able to come out.
Gladly, Josh was the one who was able to talk. "Well...I um...that was...wow." He was flustered. And, you guessed it, so was I.
"I...don't think I can talk properly. Oh, hey! I am! Surprised myself. But yeah. I guess I really liked that." I replied.
"Yeah, I did too." I noticed him look down to hide the fact that his face was completely red. I realized mine was too, but I couldn't look away from him. I kept my eyes fixed on him. Namely, the top of his head.
He started tilting his head upwards to see me. "Should we be leaving a bit early?"
I shrugged and nodded. "That's not a bad idea. Why do you want to?"
"I wanted to go, in case we get stuck in traffic. It's actually really busy out there at lunch."
"Sure, why not? Grab a sweater, and let's go." I instructed.
He laughed as he turned his back and walked to his apartment. "Demanding, I like it."
"Whatever." I rolled my eyes and waited at the front door of the building for him.
About a minute later, Josh came out from his room with a dark grey and lime green hoodie on, ready to go.
"Let's go!" He shouted and rushed to me. He ran down the stairs and pushed open the door. I followed after him and unlocked my black car. It was quite small. I didn't like it at all.
He climbed into the passenger side and I the driver's. I turned the keys in the ignition to start up the engine. The car got going and I buckled my seatbelt, as did Josh. I drove for at least an hour before arriving at Ricky's, the restaurant Ashley and Mack would be meeting us at. I was so excited to finally see them in person after almost ten years of being apart from them.
After a little more than fifteen minutes, the two girls pulled up into the parking lot of the diner. I already had a chocolate milkshake in front of me and Josh had a simple root beer.
When Ashley and Mackenzie walked in the glass doors of Ricky's, I ran up to them and wrapped both of them in a welcoming hug. Josh was just standing awkwardly a few feet away from us. I grabbed his sleeve and pulled him into the embrace.
We later sat back down at the table where our drinks already sat, but Ash and Kenzie had yet to order their beverages.
They later both ordered a cup of coffee with sugar in it.
We spoke to each other long after we had finished our meals. We had a lot of catching up to do. Before that amazing night was over, I planted a kiss on Josh's temple and I saw Ash and Mackenzie melt. They told me afterwards they thought our relationship was adorable. I thought so too.
