ughh

i get half way through the week until one day after school i get a text.
i ignore it for a a minute.
then another.

Then I hear Ally's personalized text tone.

I pick up my phone.

Ally: hey girly!😅

i don't respond because I'm not in the mood for a conversation or to talk what so ever.

I check my other texts.

Jacob: can we talk?
Jacob: even just on the phone? please.

Maybe if I call him he'll stop bothering me.
but i do sort of miss him too.
So I call him.

It rings for like half a second and he immediately picks up.

"brook. hi. gosh ive missed you."

"i wish I could say the same." i mumble.

" your voice. ive missed that too."

" yeah. what did you want to talk about?"

"us." he responds.

" what about 'us'? There's not even an 'us'"

" can you just say that you forgive me?
that's all I ask. This has been tearing me apart brook. I'm so depressed without you-"

" oh but isn't ashtin comforting you?" I cut him off.

" don't bring her into this. She did nothing wrong, this is 100% my fault."

" true true." I admit.

" Brook just-"

" i forgive you jacob. okay? I do. Just not enough to give you another chance. And even if I did you'd probably do the same with a different girl-"

" i promise i wont!" she shouts in a whisper.

" God Jacob if you'd let me finish. I'm also becoming great friends with Ethan."

" well your not dating so there's room for me."

" I'm not gonna back stab Ethan like that Jacob.I like him too much to do that to him."

" okay if that's how you feel i respect that. ill see ya at the party."

" wait what party?"

" Olivia's birthday sleep over. She invited you right?"

Oh yeah. Crap.

" yeah... Ethan's coming with me." I blurt out.

" oh.. I gotta go.. Bye." He hangs up.

"Wait Jacob-" I realized that he hung up.

God! I'm mentally banging my head in the wall in my mind.

It's Wednesday.
I leave for Phoenix on Saturday afternoon.
The parties Friday night. And Jacobs gonna be there. help?...

its easy to avoid Jacob in school now. I switched seats in math class a long time ago so I'm very far away from Jacob.

Every now and then I catch him looking at me but I don't think much of it.

Before I know it, it's Friday.
Everyone's talking about Olivia's big birthday bash.

Ally can't go because she's flying to Florida to visit Mario for Spring Break. Darn.

When I get home from school I pack my over night bag and start walking to Olivia's house.
I hope this goes well.
