phone call

i click on the phone icon and press hunters name.
it rings for a second but he immediately answers.
H= Hunter
B= Brooklyn

H: hey brook.

B: hey.. sorry i haven't called but have you heard about Jacob?

H: wasn't he in the hospital?

B: yeah and I would've called but i have been visiting him. He just got out today.

H: oh that's good. I hope he's doing alright.

B: yeah he's doing a lot better now.

H: great to hear that.

B: have you told anyone about...us?

H: no. Have you told Jacob.?

B: I might but I don't know yet. I don't wanna make his situation worse.

H: yeah than you should probably wait.

B: okay. thanks I really needed your opinion.

H: no problem..talk to ya later?

B: definitely. Bye Hunter. 

H: bye.

I hang up.

Jacob opens the door to my room.

" who ya talking to?" He asks.

" oh..just got of off the phone with Hunter. "

He gives me a confused look.

" he wanted to know how you were doing." I lie.

" ohh." Jacobs says.

" you wanna hold marshy-mellow?" I ask.

" sure." Jacob responds.

I hand him the tiny fur ball and he cradles her gently.

Marshmallow starts to purr and Jacobs face lights up.
I laugh at him.

It's almost 6 o'clock.
Jacob and I talk in my room for a bit until he brings up Hunter.
" so you hung out with Hunter most of spring break?" He asks.

" yeah I was at his house with Blake most of the time. "

" those guys are so fun." Jacob says.

" yeah we had a blast."

" and i love the necklace he gave you." He says.

" yeah I do too." I say.

" so are you guys...a thing?" He asks.

Might as well tell him.

" well um..yeah basically."

" oh."

" we kinda wanna keep this on the down low.."

" yeah..of course, I won't tell." He whispers and laughs.

I laugh too. I'm glad he's taking it well.

" so are you still hanging out with Ashtin?" I ask.

" we don't really talk anymore." He says looking down.

" but I have been talking to a girl named Bella. She pretty nice." He adds.

" cool, I'm happy for you." I lie.

" same." He says but I can tell he's lying.

" Jacob! Let's go!" Jacobs mom yells.

" well. I gotta go." He says pointing to the door.

" bye. See ya tomorrow." I say.

" bye." He waves.

Once he leaves I watch Netflix on my computer for the rest of the night.

And at 11:24 I remember that I had math homework.
I hate my life.

Luckily I found an answer key on Google.😊
Yay me!

I finish in about 10 minutes because all I had to do was copy down the answers.

It's 11:38 when I start falling asleep.
Then I get a text.

Jacob: goodnight💤❤️

Me: goodnight🌙💖

I fall asleep with my phone in my hand.

I wake up at about 2:23 am for no reason.

"Seriously." I think to myself.

I can't fall back asleep so I watch Netflix until 3am and then fall back asleep.
