park

after dinner I go back upstairs and get ready for bed.
It's Saturday night and tomorrow I'm meeting Jacob at the park.

I fall asleep wondering about Jacob and I's "relationship".

I mean it honestly feels like we're not together so... maybe we should break up.

And by break up I don't mean "take a break".
I told him he had his chance so let's see how it goes.

i wake up at 9:47. i walk downstairs and grab a bagel. Once I finish it I go back upstairs and take a shower.

Now that I'm fresh and clean I put on some white washed jeans with a holister sweatshirt.

I put my hair in a messy bun and check the time.

11:38

Uhh I guess I'll leave at 11:45.

I scroll through insta for a couple of minutes and then I leave to the park.

Jacobs sitting where he usually sits. On the park bench.

I sit next to him.
"Hey Jacob..."

"Hi Brook.."

We sit in silence.

"We need to talk." We say at the same time.

"You go first." We both say.

"No you." We say together again.

"You can go first Jacob." I say.

"Okay...
I feel like we should break up"

I sigh.

"I just feel like we don't hang out as much or talk as much anymore-"

I cut him off.

"Well maybe because you've been hanging out with "Ashtin" more then your own girlfriend."

"What? Brook... I thought you didn't care."

"Well I didn't until it started to become a regular thing! sorry I'm with Ashtin, can't cuz I'm with Ashtin, maybe tomorrow cuz I'm with Ashtin-"

"I'm sorry you felt that way.." He sniffs in a mad tone.

"Well I guess this is it.. and you can delete my number from your phone because you won't need it."

"Brook-"

"oh and have fun with ashtin." I say walking away.

"Brooklynn wait!"

"Just keep walking Brooklynn... Don't turn around" I think to myself.

"Brook..." His voice cracks.

My eyes glaze over.

I walk home with tears in my eyes.

I'm walking home when Ethan sees me wiping my tears.

"Are you okay Brook?" He asks walking to me.

"Yeah," I sniffle, "just boy problems I guess."

"I'm sorry... He must be a jerk for leaving a beautiful girl like you."

"Thanks," I giggle, "he really is a jerk."

"yeah.. I bet..." He stops for a moment, " do you want to go to McDonald's with me and Emily?"
Ethan asks.

"Sure, I'd love to."
