She stopped when she'd hit a dead end, Prince Charn hot on her heels. "Please, Mr. Wolfe, I'm so sorry about Mr. Catly. It won't happen again, and if it does, I'll ask first next time. Just... Just save me, please, Mr. Wolfe," she whispered.

By then, however, the prince had her cornered, and sneered at her, reaching for her wrist and growling at her. "You don't get to run away from me, not now, not ever. I will make you my bride and that's how it'll be. Understand?'

"Didn't I tell you before that she was taken? I've taken claim to her wellbeing, so unless you want to be injured, I would back off," Mr. Wolfe growled. "This woman means a lot to me, so unless you want to see your insides, you'd best leave."

Turning to face Mr. Wolfe, he growled more. "Who are you to say that? I don't see you married to her, she's free game."

"Oh do you think so? Forcing her into marriage with you won't work, not for her type. She's not the type to want your kind. Your kind wants a queen, and she's so much better than a queen. She's an emperess." A smirk, he crossed arms over his chest, stepping towards Prince Charn, looming over him.

"I don't think you want to challenge me right now."

        "I think I do."

Just as Mr. Wolfe was about to punch the prince, he turned tail and ran, causing his fist to drop as he approached Adrieve, a bow gently.

         "My lady, we meet again."

"Thank you, Mr. Wolfe, for saving me."

"Make this your lesson for killing one of my tenants, horrible though he is, he was my tenant, and all tenants are valuable. Do you understand why you shouldn't kill now? Whereas rule two does not apply to you, being that's the rule stating neutral characters can roam free, you tipped the balance of rule one by breaking rule three: do not murderer, find other ways out from that."

"I understand now, I promise I'll ask you next time."

"That's my girl." Offering his arm, Adrieve took it, tiredly leaning into him.

"Mr. Wolfe, would... Would asking you for a new dress be against the rules? I don't much like this dress anymore."

"I would think not. But yes, I have a new dress for you, as your old one was destroyed. I've been watching over you this whole time, you know. It took you some time to ask for help."

"Thank you, Mr. Wolfe." Yawning gently, she closed her eyes, almost tripping over her feet as Mr. Wolfe set her down on the bench she'd been on with Prince Charn not too long ago. Before she could be too comfortable, however, he'd lifted her and carried her along, and after a short while, she fell asleep with her head on his shoulder.
