After a while, she'd given up chasing after the child, having to stop to breathe. Giving a weary sigh, Adreive watched the flash of red approach her again, to her astonishment. "What do you want? First you refuse to help me, then you run away, and now you come back?"
"I want to say I'm sorry, you didn't deserve that. You're different than before. Are you alright?"
"I'm fine. I keep telling everyone that I haven't been here before, that this is my first time in this Hell and here I am. Does that answer your question?"
"Look, let's start over. I'm Red, and I want to help you find your way through."
"If you can get me to my sisters, that would be great, but I don't see why you should help me."
"Because you don't want to be stuck here." Holding her hand out, she frowned and stared at Adrieve in confusion. "Pax?"
"Yeah. Pax. I'm Adrieve." Shaking the girl's hand, she finally slumped into the wall and sighed softly. "Where are they?"
"The center of the labyrinth. They're safe for now, but if you can't save them, they'll die."
"Then we should probably get going. If you help me, I'll let you leave with me. Deal?" Again, she held her hand out towards the child.
"Deal. My grandmother is waiting for me on the other side, she told me where, but I can't get out alone."
Red sat beside her, leaning into her tiredly. "But try anything and I won't take you to your sisters or show you the way out."
Nodding, a grunt in reply, Adrieve watched the child's eyes close, starting to snore after thirty minutes. There was no hurry for her, only her last choice was the worst impact of her journey, and she had the time. This was the only good thing, this child assisting her, outside Mr. Wolfe. And she decided to let this angel sleep.
