       A Month Later

Adrieve stood in the doorway of the Wolf's Den, fists clenched and eyes scanning wildly for any escape. There was none when the doors shut behind her, just shortly after Tilli stepped through, finally staring at their unnamed host, who winked back at her. She shivered, not yet speaking but not yet and not bothering to draw attention to herself. While she'd rushed inside, there were no footsteps behind the heavy doors she'd just rushed behind.

"Well, it's time to show you your new room, yes? You must be so tired. It's a bit worn down, but with a little work, I promise you'll be fine, piglets." He began walking, and when all three sisters began to follow, their guild smirked behind his hand, pretending to yawn.

"Look here, I want out of this place, you got it? We can find somewhere else, the footsteps won't find us here."

"It's just for a night, Adrieve, and he seems harmless. We'll be fine if we leave by morning. One night won't hurt us," Tilli said.

"Yeah, I agree with Tilli, Adrieve. I'm tired, we've been running all say for your stupid mistake, and that fire is out now after you've set it. Why'd you have to drag us with you when we were kicked out from the orphanage years ago? You're 25, Adrieve, and I'm 21. Only Tilli's been gone from there for a year."

"Stop being a baby," Adrieve snapped. "We're all tired, tired's not an excuse."

"Well, ladies, this is your room," their host said with a bow, winking again at Adrieve. "And this is where I leave you. Goodnight, piglets, I hope you dream well. Should you need me, I'm only a whisper away."

"Then what's your name?" Tilli said.

"Berdinham Wolfe, but you may call me Mr. Wolfe."

With a final bow, he was gone, leaving them in a dingy room with broken furniture. On the other side of the door, Berdinham Wolfe prepared the next trap for Adrieve to take, walking away as Ryland started arguing with Adrieve.

"It's show time, ladies, and I do hope you're ready this time," he whispered into the night.
