Travis is supposed to meet me in front of my cabin in five minutes. Everyone left for the dining hall already but I'm in the middle of a lecture from one of my sisters, Miranda, in the meanwhile. She looks at me with bewilderment, moonlight shining on her face.
"You did what?" She says in exasperation "Katie. You're better than that. Why did you lower you're standers for Travis?"
"Trust me—I didn't expect to either."
"It was just last week that you said that if that Stoll messes with you again, you'd cut the circulation in his head by strangling him with vines... and now," she cringes, "you're his girlfriend."
"Miranda, you don't understand, he's..." Is just using me to get back with his ex is what's almost say but then I realize that I can't tell anyone about that.
"He's different," I sum up.
"Mhm, likely story."
"Ooh! Are we talking about. Katie's new boyfriend?" A small voice pipes up. My 6 year old sister, Rosalyn, says from behind us.
"Uh, yeah Rosie..." I blink, "Travis Stoll."
"Boys have coodies...but I think you guys are really cute!" She giggles.
"Rosie you have no idea what your talking about." Miranda shakes her head.
"Thanks, little one!" A familiar voice says as I feel arms wrap around me.
Travis.
"Hello Katie" he says to me.
"Hi, St—,"
Travis pinches my arm as he clears his throat and I catch my mistake.
"Ah—Travis!" I correct myself. I lean into him and try to play it off cool.
Rosalyn squeals and jumps up and down. "Travis! You have coodies!" She says.
"Well it wouldn't be a shame if I kissed Katie?" He says mischievously.
I put a smile on my face as he plants a small kiss on the top of my head. Miranda gags and Rosalyn shrieks and runs back inside of our cabin.
"I'm going to go throw up now..." Miranda says just before she goes back too. Probably to get Rosalyn ready for dinner.
I turn in Travis's arms so that we now face each other. I see that he has his world famous smirk plastered on his face.
"Travis, you have coodies!" I say, but push him away a little too roughly.
"Well you'll have to deal with me and my coodies now since you're my girlfriend." Her replies and folds me back in his arms. "Isn't that right?"
I wrap my arms around his neck and pull myself closer to him and rest my head in his shoulder.
"I hate you so much." I whisper, so only he can hear."Give me a chance." He whispers back.
"This dating thing better end soon." I laugh lightly to make it seem like everything is alright, and pull back.
He takes his arms from around me and turns, facing the other way, and says "Your carriage awaits you my lady."
"You and your stupid piggy back ride are so stupid."
"Just come here." he says. He bends down a bit and I jump onto his back.
"Onwards!" I shout, hopefully getting people's attention. The more whispers, the sooner rumors will travel, and the sooner Myra hopefully gets jealous.
