Myth Or History?

Chapter 7: Uh Oh.

We laughed as the Cyclops stood up and tried to attack us. As he ran the pavement cracked underneath him from his weight and force. He brought his fist down trying to squash Tyrone. Tyrone raised his arms in front of him in an X shape and blocked the Cyclops attacks, although the ground below him deepened and was smashed due to force. I then cut into small pieces the Cyclops' right arm leaving him armless and screaming in a lot of pain and agony. Tyrone jumped towards the Cyclops eyeball.

-Sword me!-Tyrone yelled.

I threw my sword at him making it spin. Normally this would be dangerous, but considering that Tyrone has impenetrable skin, it's okay. He caught it by the blade bare handed, then he grabbed it the correct way and stabbed the Cyclops' eyeball, using the sword as a grip in the Cyclops' body, he climbed on the sword and lept high into the air.

As he came down, he put his arms together, and intertwined his hands making fists and brought it down on the Cyclops' head. A loud crack was heard as the giant's spinal cord broke and his feet found themselves buried in the pavement.

We had defeated the creature without breaking a sweat and laughed happily as it turned out to be pretty fun. We left the payment for the hospital bill, and left after regrouping with our friends. I looked at the giant's body with curiosity. I decided I needed to become stronger. I took the sword out of the giant's eyeball and carved into it's stomach to get myself bloodied up. I traveled his whole body and after a few minutes came out feeling more amazing than before said activity. My friends still couldn't get used to the sight of me drenched in blood. However they wouldn't have to see it for much longer as it began to evaporate pretty soon.

As I came out my friends looked at me weirdly. Well, more than usual when seeing your friend drenched in blood.

-What?-I asked intrigued.

-Um, did you grow taller?-Brice asked.-You look as tall as Tyrone. You were 5 foot something a while ago but, you look about as tall as Tyrone...

-That's impossible-Tyrone complained.

He got back to back with me on the pavement so that Brice, Isabelle and my mother could measure us.

-Dude, you're actually taller than Tyrone.-Brice said.-You seem to be about 6'4".

-No way!-Tyrone yelled and complained.

-Actually,-my mother said.-take off your shirt.

I did as she asked, although a bit embarrassed, and took my shirt off. When my friends saw my body I turned out to be very fit, I had abs and very muscular arms.

-I think this was the blood.-I said.

-Now that you mention it,-Isabelle said.-Susanoo and Heracles were both around 7 feet tall.

-Maybe the more blood you take, the more God like you become...-Tyrone said.

-Experiment time!-I yelled as I picked up Brice and threw him into the Cyclops' corpse.

I then went in with him and made sure to get him as drenched or more than when we fought the Chimera.

Eventually I came out with him in tow as he yelled and complained. He was about to curse at me for doing that to him, but he bent over and vomited before he could get the words out.

-It's an experiment, let's see if because you've come in contact with me, you're abilities change like mine.-I said.- I'll give you four hours. What time is it?

-4:30 in the afternoon-Isabelle answered.

-At 9:00 you will jump as hard as you can and do more physical tests like that.-I said.-and I will be taking notes.

-I... Hate... You....-Brice said as best as he could. He continued to vomit so I decided I couldn't hypersonic him out of there.

Time passed quickly enough and Brice showed no change, other than stomach ache for vomiting so much. Time passed once more, soon enough a whole month had passed and classes began. For some reason, all our teachers were new, all the teachers and only my class' teachers were new, pretty odd. Everything went back to normal for a while, except for a small little detail... Due to the things we went through, me and Tyrone excelled at P.E. Class and there was also the deal with the new teachers. The first day of school was particularly fun.

-Okay, line up!-the teacher yelled.-I'm your P.E. teacher as you all know by now and you may call me Mr. Anderson. Now, this year we'll start with a progress exam. You will do some exercises and activities noe and by the end of the year you should surpass those records. Okay, I will call your names in order to get you in line by alphabetical order by last names.

He began calling out the names as they appeared and eventually got to number 22, which was mine. There was new girl by the name of Kate. She was very pretty, light green eyes, blonde, long hair and very white skin, almost see through. After said girl was Tyrone being number 24.

Mr. Anderson began calling out in groups of five since our class was made up of 30 kids. Five kids would do a test then another five kids and then another five. As he got to the group from 21 to 25 we got excited. First was a long jump test, there was a small sandtrap and one would jump and they would measure how far you got. The sandtrap was about 10 feet long. I didn't want to show off too much so I only passed the sand trap by a few feet. I still needed to show off though. The girl behind me, Kate did a long jump that was surprisingly good, but she tripped and fell onher face and everyone one laughed at her. Except for me... I hated that. It's humiliating enough to fail, but for people to laugh and point it out, it makes my blood boil.

I began to fill up with rage and I stared threatningly at everyone who laughed, even my own friends. Then Brice ran towards me, as I was still standing where I landed and turned me away.

-Dude, calm down!-he whispered concerned.-your eyes are glowing.

I hadn't realized it, but I quickly calmed down until he gave me the okay for no God Slaying eyes. I then turned and helped Kate up.

-Hi there,-I said.-I'm Jace. You're Kate right? The new girl in school.

-Um, yeah-she said shyly and blushing, trying to cover up her face in her small hands.-I'm sorry for being clumsy.

I stood there puzzled.

-Lighten up. I'm not like them.-I said as I tilted my head in the direction of the rest of the class.-I'm not here to laugh at anyone. I'm here to laugh with everyone.-I said smiling.

She smiled back, a beautiful smile. She was so innocent and childish, yet so pure.

She looked behind me and her face turned to gloom. She hugged me tightly like a kid would to a parent if they saw someone scary. As I turned my head I saw a few jackals, feral dogs, the messengers of Anubis an Egyptian God. They were completely black with blood red pupils. Their fur looked more like an infinite emptiness that would swallow me in if I touched them. My friends also saw them but no one else reacted.

-Tyrone.-I said.-she can see them. Kate is special like us.

I comforted her and guided her to Tyrone. She hugged him tightly too, due to how frightened she was. I petted her head to comfort her and she looked at me.

-Don't worry Kate.-I said.-I'll make them go away.-I said with a reassuring smile. Tyrone, protect her okay.

-Smith,-the coach said reffering to my last name.- you are excused along with your friends.

At the moment we were pretty alone so none of the students heard other than us who saw the jackals.

-Do you think it's a coincidence that a new girl shows up and new teachers are the ones assigned to her and her class.-he said.-That girl is special, like your friends. Don't pull out a weapon here, lead the myths outside and battle them there. But protect the girl at all costs.-he reaffirmed.

-Yes, sir.-I replied.-But please explain when I come back, cause this is very confusing.

-Okay-Anderson replied.

I went up to my friends and informed them of the new situation. We lead the dogs outside using Kate since she was the one they were after. As we got outside I saw around twenty more jackals expecting us along with Anubis.

This could pose to be a problem.
