Chapter 10: This is war

Kate then breathed in and out slowly and calmly, after a few seconds, she made the God's aura disappeared back into her body.

-Wait what!?-Brice asked.-What the hell happened!?

-Aura.-I said.-The aura is something every living being has. It can be vaguely explained as the power of the soul. If you are a very strong living creature, your aura will be strong as well. A creature with a weak aura is prey to one with a bigger aura.-I explained.-When your aura is strong enough, it can be projected out of your body in a physical way. When an aura is way stronger than another one, the creature with the weaker aura won't be able to even touch the one with the stronger aura. That's what happened with Anubis and myself a while ago.

-What does that have to with anything!?-Isabelle complained.

-I'm getting to that!-I yelled.- As you saw, while I couldn't even scratch the scales with my sword, Kate dented them with only her fist. That's because aura allows you to affect anything, even if you couldn't before. Now, that was in order for you to understand what we will be working on in the next few weeks. Now let's address the elephant in the room, is Anubis still alive? The answer is a resounding yes. However, he is only alive in the literal sense. He cannot move, he cannot do anything by his own will. What Kate just took into herself is Anubis's soul, that's why you could see the Anubis's aura, because as I explained, the aura is a projection of the soul.-I explained.-Now, in order for you to defend yourselves better and be able to face Gods toe to toe, we will be working on your auras.

-Wait,-Tyrone began.-does that mean my impenetrable skin is worthless? I mean, aura lets you affect things you normally couldn't so, wouldn't my impenetrable skin be worthless?

-Not exactly.-I began.-the thing is, most Gods don't know how to focus aura. They could negate your skin, but they wouldn't do much damage. That reason is why we're going to work on your aura, it'll be like a second impenetrable skin when you learn to use it. So even if the Gods negated your skin, your aura would protect you.

-Really?-Tyrone asked.

-Yes. But you will need to train hard, specifically you, harder than anyone. You're going to train harder in order to make a second skin with an aura, that will not be easy. That's why I need you to be completely focused, determined, and perseverance.-I said.-All of you are coming here to school, at 6:00pm.-I then looked over at Kate.-All of you.

She looked away and nodded slowly.

-Each one of you will work on a different thing. If you grow individually strong, we as a group will be stronger as well.-I said.-I know someone who can help us do this.

-Who?-Isabelle asked.

-Mr.Anderson-I replied very simply.-I mean, he asked us to protect Kate, he could see the jackals. I suppose he could help us, he needs to be very highly qualified if he was assigned to protect Kate.-I finished looking at my friends.-Let's go inside.

We walked into the gym and he was already teaching another class. He saw me come in with Kate. He sighed with relief and came over to us.

-So, I assume Anubis was take care of?-Anderson asked.

I nodded.-Yeah, he's dead and a part of Kate now.

-So,-Anderson began.-Another God Slayer, right?

-Yeah. I need a favor from you, Mr. Anderson.-I said.-But before that I must ask, do you know how to use Aura?

He nodded and smiled.-You're in luck, kid. Back at the agency I train the new recruits.

-Agency? Are you a government agent?-Isabelle asked intrigued.

-Yes.-He answered.-The world leaders are aware of the Gods and their constant battles. They want to protect humans so we agents are here to defend humans should a battle between Gods proves to be hazardous or dangerous for nearby citizens.-he explained.-We are also aware of God Slayers and how the Gods feel about them, however, we believe that God Slayers are still human, and we need to protect them. That's why I am here; Kate's family knew what she really was and so they asked us to protect her.-he then glanced at Kate.-Although, it seems like thanks to you, she will be able to do that by herself.

-Anyways, back to the topic.-I said.

-Oh, right.-he answered.-Well, since I am still assigned here for a whole month, I don't mind training you and your friends. However, I will be harsh, I will be cruel, and I will be strict. Are we clear?-he said.

-Crystal.-Brice answered back confidently.

-We will meet back here at the Gym to begin training, at 6:00 pm sharp.-Andersom answered.-During class I am Mr. Anderson, during training I am Sergeant Anderson. You're about to enter Anderson's boot camp of hell.

We went to the next classes, the teachers were already debriefed, so we were excused for absence and tardiness. After school ended at four I went into the nearby forest. I know that the Gods can feel each other and me, by sensing Aura. As I walked deep into the forest I had my mind set and knew what I needed to do.

I released all of my Aura and let it take control. There was a twenty foot flaming skull, with flames all around it colored red and black. From the skull was a black beam that shot far into the air, easily surpassing the Stratosphere. I was declaring war on the Gods, I was warning them "I'm going to go after you, and when I find you, I am going to kill you."
