Myth Or History?

Chapter 12: The storm brews

-What do you mean, Sergeant?-I asked intrigued.

-When everyone gets here I'll tell you, okay?-he said.

-Alright. That's fine.-I replied.

I waited around for my friends to come and by 5:30 they were already here. Even Brice, and he's never early or on time for anything.

-Okay, kids.-he began.- you all know what Aura is, by the info Jace gave me so let's cut to the chase. Aura can be used for many different things.-he said and then he began to explain the paper tags and what they did.-Now, me and Jace are gonna race, neither of us will be using aura, it will only be our natural speed. Jace, if you will?

I got into a running position and so did he and we both ran off from one side of the gym to another. The gym was two basketball courts long and two courts wide. I arrived at the other side in an instant, and it looked like Anderson didn't even move.

-Clearly, Jace won.-he said.-However let's try it while I use aura. Jace come back.

We got back to our starting positions and raced. He beat me at it once again and commented sarcastically again.

-So, you guys saw the difference right?-he asked my friends.-I clearly arrived first. You see aura can boost your natural abilities. I'm going to train you to learn how to focus your aura in a way the best suits you. Tyrone,-he turned to face him-you will need to train your mind more than your body. You need to concentrate and learn to control your aura, more than anyone else here.

-Yes, sir.- he said.

-Good. You and I will be staying later than anyone, and our training session begins later.- he said.- For now, just sit back and relax.

-Alright! That's one of my special skills! Doing nothing!!!!-Tyrone answered excitedly as he pulled out his phone to read manga.

-Okay, the rest of you!- Sergeant Anderson said.-Isabelle will be working on aura manipulation. You three,- he said pointing at Kate, Brice, and myself.-will be working on Aura compressing. I will only be here for one month, so I need you guys to learn well enough to teach each other what you learned when the time comes. Are we clear?-he finished.

-Yes sir!- we all answered.

Isabelle's class was based on things that required a lot of concentration in order to adapt aura to fit specific situations. Tyrone's class was in order for him to be able to maintain a second skin made of aura over his body. Meanwhile, our class was to improve our physical abilities.

-Okay, Jace.-Anderson said.-release your aura. All of it, no one outside this gym can sense it due to the tags I set.

I did as he said and, once again, let it all lose creating a flaming, red and black skull, with glowing red pupils. My shape was vaguely noticeable due to how dense the flames where, but I could see outside clearly.

-Nice!-Anderson said.-Now, you see that's a lot of power, but it's going all over the place, reducing it's efficiency. That's what I'm here for, I'm going to teach you how to have aura control like Kate. You will compress all of that aura into your dominant fist, try to do it.

I tried to do as he said, concentrating very much. However, as it began to get compressed it exploded and sent me flying upwards.

-Whoo!-he mocked.-now that's a high jump.

-Um, Sergeant Anderson-Kate began,- I understand why they should learn that, but... why am I here?

-I'm going to teach you an advanced version of what I'm teaching them.- he said pointing at Brice who had just exploded.-You will be learning how to concentrate your aura on a very small point, in order to deliver a stronger blow. Instead of punching you will be poking, chopping and if you learn fast enough, you can concentrate your aura on only your knuckles. Now that, that will be a painful blow.- he finished.

I snapped out of it and kept concentrating on my fist. I imagined aura like blood coursing through my veins. It slowly began to flow into my fist as a large flame the size of a bowling ball. I laughed with excitement and Anderson turned to face me.

-Good job.-he said-now stop and do it again, so you learn to do it instantly.

-Yes sir!-I said.

I turned to Brice and he had his hand in the air, waiting to high five me. I gave him a high five and exlained the method to him. He seemed to understand and in a few seconds he managed to do it. For some reason, Brice's aura was stronger than Tyrone's, although weaker than Kate's. This was impressive considering that Tyrone had a special enchantment in him. The Auras, from strongest to weakest were: Anderson, me, Kate, Brice, Tyrone, and finally, Isabelle. However, Anderson saw that Isabelle had specially good control.

Eventually a few weeks passed and we had all passed our training in that little time. We decided our training after that would be limited to sparring matches. We were all heading to school, leisurely walking, to train some more with Anderson. As we walked over there I felt a specially strong wind and large thunder clouds, followed by two very strong Auras. I had gotten very good at sensing auras so I could tell where they were, how far away they were and how strong they were. These auras belonged to two gods.

I turned to Brice and said three key words, "Raijin and Fujin."

-No way!?-he said.-Are you sure about that!?

-There's no doubt.-I said.-They're here because of my declaration of war. Let's do this.

We brofisted and then head off as fast as we could. I didn't use aura but Brice did in order to keep up. When we arrived, they where there.

-Oi, Raijin.-a green, pale faced, horned, crazy haired creature wearing a leopard loincloth, carrying a huge bag with drawings of clouds said.

-I know, Fujin.-Said another creature with the same features only this one was red, and he had shimedaiko drums with the tomoe(three commas making a circle). He was holding two gold sticks called "Bachi".

The two creatures floated in front of us staring us down.

-Oi, Brice.-I said mockingly.

-I know, Jace.-he answered mocking the two gods as well.
