"Hey, Kurt. How're you feeling? Happy to be back at school?" Rachel spoke in a soft voice.

"Yea, I'm really happy to be back and I'm fine so you don't need to check on me every two seconds." Kurt rolled his eyes, "Thanks for your concern anyway."

"You're very welcome. You're my best friend of course I will be concerned about you." Rachel smiled happily.

"Ok, is glee club on tonight?"

"Yes, but if you're not feeling up to it then I'm sure everyone will understand an-"

"I said I'm fine, Rachel. Really, I'm okay." Kurt looped his arm through her's as they made their way to their English class.

"OK, sorry. Oh, by the way in English we're doing that partner thing that Mr. Marton sets every year. But because you weren't in I went with Mercedes so you'll have to go with Blaine Anderson." Rachel looked at him with apologetic eyes.

"Blaine who?"

"Blaine Anderson. You know, curly untamed hair, dreamy hazel eyes, gorgeous cheek bones, stereotypical badboy?" Rachel tilted her head to look at her best friend.

"Nope, not ringing any bells. But he's gotta be something if you're calling his cheekbones gorgeous." Kurt smirked.

"They are!" Rachel slapped his arm.

"Well, if he's so good looking then why did you sound sorry for me? It'll be great to have to work with such a hottie, don't you think?" Kurt frowned.

"Yeah, but he's gay."

"He's gay, I'm gay. So what?"

"He's a badboy. Remember Dylan?"

"Oh yeah. That was a disaster." Kurt shook his head in memory of his first boyfriend.

"Yeah, he was a badboy too. And you swore that you'd never get involved with another badboy ever again because of what Dylan did to you."

"Who said I was gonna get involved with this Blaine guy?" Kurt said as they neared their English room.

"Just-I don't know. Be careful, okay?" Rachel nodded towards the raven haired boy sat next to the only empty seat in the room.

Kurt shrugged at her before slipping into the seat next to Blaine.

Kurt smiled at the boy when he lifted his head up and looked straight into Kurt's blue eyes with an unreadable expression fixed onto his face. Kurt's face fell when he noticed the boy's icy expression.

"I'm K-Kurt." Kurt held his hand out but dropped it when the boy simply stared at it.

"Blaine." The teen spoke barely over a whisper before looking back down and continuing to carve a letter into the table with a pocket knife.

"Nice to-umm-nice to meet you." Kurt stammered again.

Kurt turned to the front of the class as Mr. Marton began talking. But he didn't miss the way a drop of water fell onto the table just below Blaine's face. A drop of water that Kurt assumed was a tear.
