The music closing credits was the only sound to be heard until Kurt sighed and turned the TV off.
"So-"
"Kurt, I'm so sorry."
Kurt turned to look at Blaine, a questioning look set upon his face.
"I'm sorry I'm so messed up it's just- I was never the same after I found you, y'know? And I- I blame myself, rightfully so." Kurt opened his mouth to speak but Blaine held up a hand, shaking his head, "But I think the real tipping point, the point where my whole world collapsed around me was when you finally came back into school and suddenly we- we were strangers again. You didn't know me, you couldn't remember anything we'd be through. And every night, the memories would hit me and it would hurt like fuck, but what would hurt even more than the memories, would be the fact that you didn't have those memories. They were just- they were all gone. And you were gone too."
Kurt sighed heavily, "Blaine, I'm really, really sorry."
"I don't blame you, Kurt."
"I just- I don't know what to do, Blaine. How can I help you?"
"Just be there for me. Everything is better when I'm with you." Blaine smiled.
"I don't know anymore, I really don't."
Blaine's smile dropped instantly, "Kurt, please don't give up on me. If you give up on me, I'm going to give up on me too."
"I'm not giving up on you! I just don't know what to do, you and I both know there's no way I'm getting those memories back. But I so badly want to have them back, I want to help you and know what we went through, but I know it hurts for you to tell me."
"Why don't you just ask some questions, then. And I'll see if I can answer them?"
"Okay. Uh, one thing that I've always wondered about is that when we first met again after the accident, and you came over to our house after you got into a fight with your dad." Kurt raised an eyebrow, "You seemed really at home with my dad and in our house. How come?"
"Oh, well, pretty soon after we officially started dating, you invited me to your Friday night dinner and I met your dad then, obviously. He was a bit cold and it took him some time to warm up to me, but eventually he was really accepting of us and I was always over at your house. He- when my dad first hit me, I came over to find you but you were out with your friends so Burt invited me inside while he called you. But Burt ended up being the first person I told about my dad, so, your house was always somewhere I felt at home."
"Okay, what about Mercedes? I swear she knew."
"Oh yeah, she caught us making out in the choir room one time after glee club." Blaine smirked.
"We did that?" Kurt frowned.
Blaine laughed, "Oh yeah, all the time."
"That doesn't sound like something I'd do." Blaine's laugh died in his theist, watching Kurt frown as he played with the wool on his socks before suddenly standing up, "I want to take you somewhere."
Blaine frowned, looking up at Kurt who was holding his hand out to Blaine.
"Do you trust me?"
"Of course." Blaine took Kurt's hand.
