Kurt couldn't stop thinking about how lost Blaine had looked in the locker room yesterday. Kurt was sure he'd made the right choice to not return. Blaine would be better off by himself, right?

"Hey Blaine." Kurt laughed awkwardly when the boy approached him at his locker the next day.

"You're an ass hole."

"Excuse me?" Kurt raised an eyebrow at Blaine, trying to ignore the gasps of Mercedes and Rachel.

"You just left me."

"I thought you'd be better by yourself."

"You thought I'd be-" Blaine broke off into a quiet chuckle, "You thought I'd be better by myself? Kurt, I was so scared yesterday."

"Why wer-"

"Maybe I was scared because I couldn't stop myself crying and you might judge me or maybe I was scared because you mean more to me than any other person in the whole world. You are everything I think about, everything I want and everything I need."

Blaine paused as he took in their faces.

Rachel was staring at Blaine as if he had three heads and Mercedes was nodding knowingly. Mercedes was the only friend of Kurt's that knew about their relationship, Blaine remembered now.

But Kurt. Kurt looked as if he was holding back tears and Blaine couldn't figure out why. Why was this upsetting Kurt so much?

"Kurt, when I'm with you I not only feel safe from the world, but I feel safe from the things that hurt me inside. I fell in love with you because you loved me when I couldn't love myself and now you stand here telling me that I'd be better by myself? You've changed. You're not the same person you were before your accident."

"No. I'm not the same person. I don't have all of the memories I did before and memories change you."

"Well, I still have all of those memories. What am I supposed to do? Just forget like you did?"

"No. But that's why I left. Because I knew that if I stayed it wouldn't be fair on either of us. You have all of these memories of us together but to me you're still a stranger."

"I- I'm a stranger to you?"

"I'm sorry but yes." Kurt sighed before turning back to his locker.

Blaine almost couldn't hear Kurt starting up a conversation with Mercedes and Rachel over the loud buzzing noise in his ears. It felt like everything was suddenly in slow motion and Blaine was falling. He was falling and everyone was pointing and laughing at him. Kurt only saw him as a stranger. Blaine would be nothing more than a stranger. It was over.

"Hey, Anderson." Blaine glanced up to see Karofsky towering over him, "What you doing down there, man?"

Blaine glanced around the empty corridor. How long had he been on the floor?

Blaine frowned at the hand that was suddenly thrust in front of him.

Karofsky sighed and grabbed Blaine's arm to yank him to his feet when Blaine wasn't accepting his hand.

"You don't look to good." David raised an eyebrow when Blaine stumbled backwards, sending a loud crash echoing around the halls as he slammed into the lockers behind him, "Can I help you with anything?"

"I- I want..." Blaine trailed off as he thought about what he wanted. What did he want? "I want Kurt."

"You want Kurt? I don't think I can get you that, man." The jock laughed, "Anything else?"

"I just want Kurt." Blaine shook his head, "I want his smiles, his giggles, his sarcasm, his jokes, his mistakes, his flaws. Everything. I just want Kurt."

"You're in deep, Anderson." Karofsky shook his head sadly before he began to walk away, "You know where to find me if you need anything."

This was why Blaine hated getting attached to anyone. When they leave you just feel lost.

I had to post another chapter because I felt so bad about how small the previous one was :(
