Kurt had only seen Blaine two days ago. Only two days and Kurt was already going crazy wondering why Blaine hadn't called him.Sure, Blaine might be busy with work and didn't Kurt hear that Blaine had fired his manager somewhere? But besides all of that, Kurt thought that, if Blaine really cared about him as much as the man had said, shouldn't he have called by now?
Kurt was probably looking too far into things. Blaine was probably just held up with work. He probably just needed to find a new manager. That must be it.
But that didn't stop Kurt from wondering. Because what if Kurt wasn't looking far enough into things? What if Blaine hadn't called yet because Blaine didn't actually like Kurt. What if when Blaine kissed Kurt, he realised that he didn't actually like Kurt as much as he thought. Because it had been years since Blaine had even seen Kurt, never mind kiss him.
And wasn't Blaine dating that girl? What was her name? Mary? Megan? It was something with an 'M'. It didn't matter. Kurt never paid any attention anyway.
There was something about Blaine and that girl's relationship that didn't seem right. Or maybe it was just Blaine and anyone's relationship besides Kurt that didn't seem right.
And wasn't Blaine gay? Kurt couldn't remember Blaine ever openly telling him that he was gay. Maybe the man was bisexual? Kurt didn't know of anyone, besides himself and the Meadow girl, who had dated Blaine. But hadn't Blaine told Kurt's dad that he would never love anyone other than Kurt?
But, despite the obvious feelings he still had for Blaine, Kurt had managed to convince himself that it was just the girl. Full stop.
There was something about the girl that Blaine was dating that didn't seem right. Her smile always seemed fake, forced, as if she really didn't want to be where she was. Her eyes were a bright, fake green. It was so obvious that she wore contacts that she may as well have had a big flashing 'I wear contacts' sign above her head. Her whole face in general made her look like she was trying too hard. Her lips were a dark shade of red and her mascara was a dark black, highlighting her fake, green eyes.
Or maybe Kurt just hated her. Who really knew?
-_-_-
"Hey Blaine."
Blaine's head snapped up when he heard someone sit on a stool across from him, "What're you doing here, Melissa?"
"I live here, remember?"
"But I fired Cooper."
"Yeah, and? You didn't fire me."
"Maybe I should."
"Maybe." The girl raised an eyebrow, as if challenging him.
But Blaine simply shook his head and went back to moving his spoon around his bowl of cereal.
"Who was that man you kissed outside of the meet-and-greet?" Melissa asked as she stood up and made her way to the fridge.
"Just a guy I knew once." Blaine's voice trailed off as Melissa bent over to reach something on the lower shelf of the fridge.
Melissa could feel Blaine's eyes following her around the kitchen as she made her breakfast, "How'd you know him?"
"Uh," Blaine cleared his throat, "We went to high school together."
"Do you kiss everyone you went to high school with?" Melissa raised an eyebrow playfully as she turned around to face Blaine.
"No."
Melissa rolled her eyes away when the microwave beeped, signalling her food was finished, "Why'd you kiss that guy, then?"
"He- I used to date him." Blaine frowned when the brunette sat across from him and placed a bowl of cereal on the table, "Why did you put a bowl of cereal in the microwave?"
"I'm cold." She shrugged, "So, you and this guy dated? What's his name?"
"Kurt." Blaine answered, licking his lips when Melissa placed a spoon of cereal against her lips and wrapping them around the spoon.
"Hmm, Kurt." Melissa nodded, "Nice. So, how long were you guys boyfriends?"
"A year and 5 months." Blaine answered quickly before blushing slightly, "I mean, that's what I think."
"Uh-huh." She laughed slightly, "So what happened? You broke up with him because there was another guy you wanted? Someone hotter than Kurt?"
"You have me pegged all wrong."
"I don't have you pegged at all. I can't 'peg' a guy I find confusing." Melissa raised an eyebrow, using her fingers to make air quotes around the word 'peg'.
"Why am I confusing?"
"Well, you're normally so closed off and quiet. I always assumed you were a very personal guy. Like, you don't reveal anything about yourself unless you know every single person in the room that you're in. But now we're having this conversation and you're revealing all these things about the past and I-"
"I only told you who the guy was I kissed. That's hardly all things about my past."
"Okay, geez, walls are back up." She muttered.
"Walls? What walls?"
"It's weird. Whenever someone insults you or you don't know the person very well- or anyone, really -your walls go up. It's like you think you have to protect yourself or you'll get hurt. You never show any emotions or anything and whenever anything gets uncomfortable you just leave or go quiet and don't speak at all."
"I need to go get ready." Blaine mumbled, standing up and taking his bowl to the sink before walking out of the room.
"See?" Melissa shouted after him, "When you have your wall as up, you walk away when you get uncomfortable!"
"Shut up." Blaine yelled back.
Melissa laughed quietly as she placed another spoonful of cereal into her mouth.
Hiiiiiiii! So, I've just had my operation on Thursday. Now I have to rest for 2 weeks which is going to be boring as fuck. And, luckily for me, the internet is really slow so it takes forever to post anything on here or anything :(
Anyway, hopefully you will get lots of updates over these next 2 weeks if my internet decides to play nice.
Don't ask what happened in this chapter. I don't even know tbh.
^.^
