Harry Potter vs Twilight Rant
Twilight & Harry Potter belong to their respective writers.
*Takes a very deep breath*
I would like to say firstly that I have read both of these books and a warning now, there are spoilers. I want to also point out that I am a HP fan so this will be biased.
Twilight is a teen romance starring Bella as our misunderstood teen who helplessly falls in love with Edward who is *spoiler alert* a vampire. Gosh, what a surprise! The series consists of four books, Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn which together create the Twilight Saga. The books are quite long and take ages to get to the point so I will compress it into a few paragraphs or so for you.
The story starts with our teen Bella moving to live with her dad in a cold and gloomy town called Forks, for no real reason that she is aware of. She goes to the local high school and boys seems to be attracted to her like flies to food even though she describes herself as plain and boring. Then she sees Edward and his family.
It doesn’t take Bella long to find out what they are (Vampires) and fall in love with Edward. Then an evil guy called James comes with his two friends Victoria and Laurent (That’s a guy’s name by the way). Basically they want to suck Bella’s blood (did I mention they are vampires too?). Bella runs away and almost gets killed before being saved by her beloved Edward. Then she gets cranky because he takes her to the school ball.
The next three books consist of Edward leaving Bella who curls up and ignores everyone for months before her jumping off a cliff makes Edward think she is dead so he attempts to kill himself. Bella chases after him and stops him just before it is too late. Then Victoria comes back, wanting to avenge James death by killing Bella. Edward defeats her. Then Bella and Edward get married, go away on a honeymoon. Bella comes back pregnant and gets turned into a vampire to save her life. She gives birth to a half vampire child who is then mistaken for a child who has been turned into a vampire. Some evil men come wanting to destroy them all. Bella and Co. Win and they live happily ever after.
Harry Potter is children’s fiction, but it is well loved by all ages. The main character, Harry, is an orphaned child, the greatest dark wizard of the time killing his parents. He is forced to live with his horrible relatives the Dursleys. Because I don’t want to spoil the books for anyone I will say no more, it is definitely worth reading the books for yourself. In fact check the video on the side, it does a pretty good job briefly covering what Harry Potter is all about.
Now this is where opinion comes in. Mostly it will be mine, but I have a few conversations that should both entertain and frustrate you. If it is my comment it will be bolded and italicised, if it is my reply it will say so next to it.

Random commenter#2: Twilight is about finding your true love. Harry Potter is about friendship and loyalty. I personally like Twilight more because it's about true love and how decisons affect you in the future. Harry Potter is interesting and well written but then again so is Twilight. They both have the bad guys and they both have the sidekicks. Sometimes, I find that reading the Harry Potter books is boring. It drags on and on. But as for Twilight, it's more simple. I'm not going to fight over which is betetr. If you like Wizards and that type of stuff it's Harry Potter. If you like vampires, it's Twilight.
My Comment: you say the Harry potter books drag on... Twilight is 498 pages of utter nonsense. I have read both books and can say that there is about 1% of actual story in twilight, the rest is bellas edward obsessed thoughts which I can live without. Each page of Harry potter is rich with detail. Btw Harry Potter has Vampires
