My Little Frozen

Chapter 3

Three years had passed since Prince Solaris and Princess Celestia were killed in a shipwreck during a storm, and on a warm, summer day, all the ships have sailed, and other ponies dressed in fancy suits and dresses from Ponyville had traveled to Canterlot, because it was the coming of age for Twilight Sparkle. It was Coronation Day, the one day where Twilight Sparkle takes over her parents's place as the new ruler of Equestria. A unicorn named Shining Armor began to welcome the ponies that were coming. "Welcome to Canterlot. Watch your step, please. The gates are about to open soon." Shining Armor said greeting the ponies getting off the boats. "Why do I wear this?" An earth pony named Golden Crown asked as his mother tried to stuff him in his blue jacket onto him. "Because the princess has come of age." Golden Crown's mother named Rarity said. "It's Coronation Day!" "That's not my fault." Golden Crown said bitterly.

While everypony was setting up the decorations for the special day, Sunset Glare, now a full grown stallion have packed up the things he will need until Winona, now a full grown dog nudged him. "What do you want, Winona?" Sunset Glare asked. Winona barked, and Sunset Glare said in a dog-like voice "Give me a snack!" "What's the magic word?" Sunset Glare asked. Winona barked again, and Sunet Glare said in a dog-like voice "Please!" Sunset Glare then pulled a dog biscuit from his bag and gave it to her. As Winona chewed on the dog biscuit, Sunset Glare pulled an apple from his bag, and ate it. "I can't believe they're finally opening the gates!" An earth pony named Cheerliee said in excitement. "Eeyup!" Another earth pony named Big Mac said. "And for a whole day!"

Walking down the path was a donkey named Cranky Doodle Donkey, and with him was his bodyguards named Flim and Flam. "Ah, Canterlot, our most mysterious trade partner." Cranky Doodle said smirking. "Open those gates so I may unlock your secrets, and exploit your riches!" He caught himself and asked "Did I just say that out loud?" "Yes, you did." Flim said rolling his eyes. "Oh, my sore eyes can't wait to see the two princesses." A pegasai pony named Soarin said. "I bet they're absolutely lovely." "I bet they are beautiful." Another pegasai pony named Flamethrower said. Inside the castle, Sunset Shimmer, now a full grown mare was still sleeping in her bed. She kept snoring up like a storm until somepony knocked on her door.

"Princess Sunset Shimmer?" An pegasai pony named Flash Sentry called. Sunset Shimmer woke up, sat on her bed, and said "Yeah?" "I'm sorry to wake you." Flash Sentry said. "No, I've been up for hours." Sunset Shimmer yawned as she was about to fall asleep. "Who is it?" "It's still me, miss." Flash Sentry said. "The gates will open soon, so it's time to get ready." "Of course." Sunset Shimmer said. "Ready for what?" "Your sister's coronation." Flash Sentry replied. "My sister's coronation." Sunset Shimmer muttered as she opened her eyes and looked at her dress that was colored red, orange and yellow. And then it hit her, today was the Coronation Day of her sister being the new princess. "It's Coronation Day!" Sunset Shimmer exclaimed as she got out of bed, got dressed, and ran out of her bedroom.

"It's Coronation Day!" Sunset Shimmer said to one of her servants before she ran outside to her backyard as the servants were preparing the castle for Coronation Day. "Finally, they're opening up the gates!" Sunset Shimmer said as she petted the ducklings that approached her. "And for the first time ever, I won't be alone! I can't wait to meet everypony!" She then gasped and said "What if I meet..the one pony!" She went back inside the castle, and imagined herself just enjoying herself until she sees a stallion. When she would meet him, she would want to stuff some chocolate in her face. But then, they would laugh and talk all evening, and fall in love. Sunset Shimmer went into the art gallery, and looked at the paintings that had something to do with romance. "I know it is totally crazy to dream I'd find romance." Sunset Shimmer said to herself. "But for the first time ever, at least I've got a chance."

Meanwhile in another room, Twilight Sparkle now a full grown mare wearing a purple dress with a sweetheart bodice with a bronze trim, black long-sleeved turtleneck blouse with pink and indigo crystals, magenta cape with dark brown flats with gold outlines, and purple stockings and shoes. Her mane was woven and tied into a french crown twisted bun. She looked outside from her window at the ponies arriving to the palace. Twilight Sparkle was more nervous than her sister, because the time had come for her to be the new ruler of Equestria, but it is not going to be easy. Her winter powers have become stronger. She wanted to get her coronation over and done with before she revealed her powers to everypony, and it won't be pretty if anypony saw it. Taking a deep breath, Twilight Sparkle said "Calm yourself, control yourself."

Twilight Sparkle turned from then window, walked up to a dresser, and looked at a picture of her father, Prince Solaris. Twilight Sparkle had to do it, for her father. "Just remember what your father always said." She said as she took off her gloves, and placed it on the dresser. "Don't let them in, don't let them see. Be the good mare you always have to be." As she took a circle-shaped jewel box, and a candle stick in her hooves to practice for her crowning while focusing on keeping her emotions under control, she said to herself "Conceal, don't feel. Put on a show." When she saw frost spreading on the two items, she panicked and put the items down quickly, and said "Remember, make one wrong move, and everypony will know." She took a few deep breaths, and put her gloves back on her hooves.

"But it's only for today, and it's agony to wait." Twilight Sparkle said as walked to the door to the room, and opened it. She turned to Flash Sentry, and said "Tell the guards to open the gates." "Yes, your majesty." Flash Sentry as he went off to do so. Outside, Sunset Shimmer ran outside to the gates, waiting for it to open. "Open the gates." Flash Sentry said to the guards. When the guards opened the gates, Sunset Shimmer ran out smiling at the ponies that were coming in. In the castle, Twilight Sparkle headed toward the balcony, opened the door, and looked at the courtyard. While Twilight Sparkle looked at the arriving guests, Sunset Shimmer ran out of the castle toward the docks.

As Sunset Shimmer was running, a pony bumped into her. She flung backwards, unknowing that she tripped over a bucket and fell into a boat, causing it to slid toward the water, but the pony had his hoof inside it to stop it in time. "Hey!" Sunset Shimmer snapped at the earth pony named Dr. Whooves who served royalty that bumped into her. A unicorn with a light amber mane, light brilliant arctic blue eyes, a white prince's outfit, and a rose compass for his cutie mark named Prince Blueblood approached Sunset Shimmer said "I'm so sorry, are you hurt?" "Hey...um, no, I'm okay." Sunset Shimmer replied. "Are you sure?" Prince Blueblood asked in concern as he got off the carriage Dr. Whooves was pulling on and went into the boat to help her. "Yes, I wasn't looking where I was going, but I'm great actually. Sunset Shimmer said. "Thank goodness." Prince Blueblood said.

They were both smiling at each other until Prince Blueblood bowed, and said "Oh, I'm Prince Blueblood of Manehattan." Sunset Shimmer curtsied and said "Princess Sunset Shimmer of Canterlot." Prince Blueblood's eyes widened as he realized he was talking to a princess. "Your highness!" He said as he went into a deep bow. Dr. Whooves bowed, causing the boat to slide again. Just before Sunset Shimmer fell, Prince Blueblood caught her in time. Dr. Whooves quickly pressed his hoof on the boat that made Prince Blueblood fall and Sunset Shimmer fell on top of him. "This is awkward. Not that you're awkward, just because we're awkward. You're gorgous, wait, what?" Sunset Shimmer wondered as Prince Blueblood was helping her up. "I would like to formally apologize for hitting the Princess of Canterlot with my servant, and for every moment after." Prince Blueblood said. "No, it's fine I'm not that princess." Sunset Shimmer said. "I mean, if you hit my sister, it would be...yeesh, cause you know.." Sunset Shimmer turned to Dr. Whooves, and said "Hello." She turned to Prince Blueblood, and said "Buy, lucky you it's just me."

Prince Blueblood chuckled, and said "Just you?" Sunset Shimmer nodded as they were staring at each other in silence. They both kept staring each other until the bells began to ring, snapping Sunset Shimmer out of it, and reminding her that it's time for the coronation start. "The bells! The Coronation! I'd better go! Bye!" Sunset Shimmer said as she headed to the church in Canterlot, and waved to Prince Blueblood. Prince Blueblood waved while watching Sunset Shimmer running off, until Dr. Whooves waved his hoof. "Oh, no." Prince Blueblood said before he yelped as he and the boat fell into the water. He broke into the surface, and smiled watching Sunset Shimmer go to the church in Canterlot.
