Chapter 11

Just then, Sunset Glare ran into the castle, and ran up the stairs with Spike as Sunset Glare said "Sunset Shimmer!" They reached Twilight Sparkle's main living space, and they ran to Sunset Shimmer who was struggling to get up as Sunset Glare said "Sunset Shimmer. Are you okay?" "I'm okay." Sunset Shimmer said as got to her hooves, and did her best to hide the pain. "I'm fine." Feeling scared, Twilight Sparkle looked at Sunset Glare, and said "Who's this? Wait, it doesn't matter. You have to go." As some spiky ice shadows started creeping down the walls, Sunset Shimmer said "No! I know we can figure this out together!" "How?!" Twilight Sparkle said desperately. "What power do you have to stop this winter?! To stop me?!" Sunset Shimmer didn't answer, and Sunset Glare held onto her protectively as the spiky ice shadows got closer, and said "Sunset Shimmer, I think we should go." "No!" Sunset Shimmer said as tears threatened to fall down on her face. "I'm not leaving without you, Twilight!" Feeling heartbroken but decisive, Twilight Sparkle said "Yes, you are!" She then used her magic to build a giant, menacing snow monster called Hydra as Sunset Glare, Sunset Shimmer, and Spike stared in awe. Hydra then grabbed Sunset Glare and Sunset Shimmer in one claw, and grabbed Spike in the other claw. The snow monster then went down to the front door, and opened it as Sunset Shimmer pounded the claw with her hoof, and said "Stop! Put us down!"

"Go away!" Hydra said as he threw Sunset Glare and Sunset Shimmer down the stairs. They slid down the stairs, and went past Winona. "Heads up!" Spike said as Sunset Glare and Sunset Shimmer ducked when Hydra threw Spikes head at the the snowbank nearby. "Watch out for my butt!" Hydra threw Spike's body at the snowbank as Sunset Glare and Sunset Shimmer ducked. The princess got very angry as she made a snowball with her magic, and said "It is not nice to throw creatures and ponies!" She tried to charge at Hydra who was walking back to Twilight Sparkle's castle, but Sunset Glare stopped her, and held her back as he said "All right, fiesty pants. Calm down down! Whoa! Just let the snow monster be!" Sunset Shimmer struggled to get away from Sunset Glare as she said "Let me at him! I want to get him! I...Okay. I'm calm." "Ok, good." Sunset Glare said. Sunset Shimmer backed down for moment. She turned to walk away, but then she turned back around, and threw the snowball at Hydra as Sunset Glare said "Oh, come on!" The snowball hit Hydra's back, and although it didn't hurt, it was enough to infuriate him. He roared in rage as spikes shot out of his joints. "See, now you made him mad!" Sunset Glare said. "I'll distract him." Spike said. "You guys go!" Sunset Glare pushed Sunset Shimmer along as they ran. Winona ran off in the opposite direction, and Spike's belly and butt fell off the snowbank, and ran off to follow Winona as he said "No, no, not you guys!" Spike's head then fell off the snowbank, and he said "This just got a whole lot harder."

As Hydra went chasing after the intruders, Sunset Shimmer and Sunset Glare leapt and slid down a steep slope. When they reached the bottom, Hydra landed hard behind them, and they took off running through a maze of conifers that sagged under the weight of the snow. Hydra was hot on their tail as Sunset Glare pointed at a direction, and said "This way!" Sunset Shimmer grabbed a branch of a sagging tree, and released all of the snow. The tree snapped upright, knocking Hydra back. "Ho-ho-ho!" Sunset Glare said feeling impressed. "I got him!" Sunset Shimmer said. They bursted out of conifer forest, and almost ran right off a cliff. They stopped short on the edge as Sunset Glare said "Whoa, stop!" "It's a hundred foot drop!" Sunset Shimmer said looking over the cliff. "It's two hundred." Sunset Glare as he took out a rope from his bag, and tied it around Sunset Shimmer. Sunset Glare pulled the rope tightly as Sunset Shimmer said "Ow!" Sunset Glare then dropped to his knees, took out a pick axe from his bag, and started digging a u-shape in the snow. "What's that for?" Sunset Shimmer asked. "I'm digging a snow anchor." Sunset Glare said. Not completely trusting him, Sunset Shimmer said "Okay. What if we fall?" "There's twenty feet of fresh powder down there." Sunset Glare said. "It'll be like landing on a pillow. Hopefully."

Suddenly, they heard an angry roar coming closer as Sunset Glare said "Okay, Sunset Shimmer. On three." As Sunset Shimmer prepared for the jump like a boxer getting ready to fight, she said "Okay. You tell when." "One." Sunset Glare said. "I'm ready to go." Sunset Shimmer said. "Two." Sunset Glare said. Feeling pumped up, Sunset Shimmer said. "I was born ready! Yes!" "Calm down." Sunset Glare said. Suddenly, a huge tree flew through the air toward them, and Sunset Shimmer jumped off the cliff, pulling Sunset Glare with her as she said "Three!" They hung upside down over the cliff as the rope caught their fall. "Whoa!" Sunset Glare said. "That happened." At the top of the cliff, Spike emerged from the woods, looking like a complete mess because his body parts were in the wrong places. He huffed and puffed as he struggled to run, and said "Ah. Ah. Wow, am I out of shape." He stopped running, and put his body together in the right order, and said "There we go. Hey, Sunset Shimmer! Winona! Where'd you go? We totally lost Hydra back there!" Suddenly, Hydra stepped up behind Spike who turned around to face him, and said "Hey. We were just talking about you. All good things, all good things." Hydra roared at approached Sunset Glare's snow anchor as Spike jumped on to his leg, and said "NO!" Hydra still kept on walking towards the snow anchor as Spike said "This is not making much of a difference!"

Hydra flicked Spike off of his leg right over the cliff as the snow dragon said "Whoa! He went past Sunset Glare and Sunset Shimmer who said "Spike!" "Hang in there, you two!" Spike said as he fell to the bottom of the cliff. Hydra then started yanking Sunset Glare and Sunset Shimmer's rope up as the princess said "Wait, what?!" Sunset Glare hit his head on the cliff, and he passed out and hung like a rag doll as Sunset Shimmer said "Sunset Glare!" Hydra pulled them up, and as he breathed snow all over them, he roared out "DON'T COME BACK!" Grossed out by the creature's breath, Sunset Shimmer said "Ugh. We won't." She whipped out a knife as Sunset Glare came to. Sunset Shimmer cut the rope as they screamed, and fell to the bottom of the cliff while Hydra walked away. They landed on the snow, and Sunset Shimmer opened her eyes to see that she was buried up to her shoulders in the soft thick snow. She laughed, and said "Hey, you were right. Just like a pillow." She looked over to see Spike hanging onto hooves, and panting as she said "Spike!" "I can't feel my legs! I CAN'T FEEL MY LEGS!" Sunset Glare popped out of the snow, and spitted some of it out as he said "Those are MY legs." Spike's bottom ran by as he said "Ooh. Hey, do me a favor, grab my butt!" Sunset Glare did so, and he placed it on his body.

Spike sighed with relief, and said "Oh, that feels better." Winona walked up to Spike, and sniffed his nose. "Hey, Winona!" Spike said as he looked at Sunset Shimmer and Sunset Glare just as Winona attempted to bite the nose off but failed. "She found us!" He hugged the dog as he said "Who's my cute little dog?" "Don't talk to her like that." Sunset Glare said feeling annoyed. He helped Sunset Shimmer out of the snow as he said "Here." "Whoa!" Sunset Shimmer said feeling impressed as she was lifted out of the snow. "You okay?" Sunset Glare asked. Sunset Shimmer nodded, and said "Thank you. Um...how's your head." She touched the spot where Sunset Glare hit his head, and he flinched as he said "Ah! Ooh!" He then waved the pain with a giggle as he said "I mean, it's fine. Ah...I'm good. Ha. I've got a thick skull." I don't have a skull." Spike said. "Or bones." "So...now what?" Sunset Glare asked. "Now what?" Sunset Shimmer asked. She then began to panic as she said "Now what?! Oh! What am I gonna do?! She threw me out! I can't go back to Canterlot with the weather like this! And then there's your ice business-!" Sunset Glare calmed her down, and said "Hey, hey, don't worry about my ice business." He then noticed something, and said "Worry about your mane."

Sunset Shimmer tilted her head in confusion, and said "What? I just fell off a cliff. You should see your mane." "No, yours is turning white." Sunset Glare said. Sunset Glare looked at a part of her mane turning white as she said "White? It's what?" "It's because she struck you." Sunset Glare said. "Isn't it?" "Does it look bad?" Sunset Shimmer asked. Sunset Glare thought for a minute, and said "No." "You hesitated." Spike said. "No, I didn't." Sunset Glare said. "Sunset Shimmer, you need help. Now, come on." As they started to walk towards the sunset, Spike said "Okay! Where are we going?" "To see my friends." Sunset Glare said. "The love experts?" Sunset Shimmer asked. "Love experts?" Spike asked smiling. "Yes." Sunset Glare said. "And don't worry, they'll be able to fix this." "How do you know? Sunset Shimmer asked. "Because I've seen them do it before." Sunset Glare said. "I like to consider myself a love expert." Spike said. Meanwhile at the ice castle, Twilight Sparkle paced around as she panted in fear, and muttered "Get it together. Control it! Don't feel. Don't feel. Don't feel. DON'T FEEL!" She looked up, and gasped in fear when sharp ice spikes grew all over her ice castle.
