My Little Frozen

Chapter 7

Meanwhile in the Everfree Forest, Sunset Shimmer was riding in her carriage on the path to find Twilight Sparkle. As she shivered from the cold, she said "Twilight?! Twilight?! Twilight, it's me, Sunset Shimmer! Your sister who didn't mean to make you freeze the summer! I'm sorry! It's all my fault!" She looked at Colgate, and said "Of course, none of this would have happened if she'd just told me her secret. Ha, she's a stinker." Suddenly, a branch of a nearby tree snapped, and it startled Colgate, causing Sunset Shimmer to fly off the carriage, and land in a soft pile of snow. "I'm sorry, but you are on your own!" Colgate said as she started to run away. "Oh no. No, no, no!" Sunset Shimmer called out. "Come back! No, no, no, no!" Colgate didn't come back at all, so Sunset Shimmer said "Okay." She grabbed onto a branch of a leaning tree, and tried to pull herself to her hooves, but the tree snapped upright, and released all its snow onto her. She groaned in frustration. She brushed the snow off of her, and continued on.

Later that night, Sunset Shimmer reached the top of a hill as she said "Snow, it had to be snow. Twilight couldn't have had tropical magic that covered the fjords in white sand, and warm..." She then saw smoke rising up in the distance. "Fire!" She said as she finished her sentence. Suddenly she let out a yelp as she went tumbling down the hill. She landed in an icy stream at the bottom, freezing the skirt of her dress. She shuffled up to the building as she said "Cold, cold, cold, cold cold!" She went up the small stairs, and shook the snow off a sign. "Wandering Cheese Sandwich's Trading Post." Sunset Shimmer said as she read the sign. Snow fell off a smaller sign, and she said "Ooh! And Sauna." She then cautiously stepped through the door which hit her frozen flank, and knocked her to the center of the shop. She looked around, and saw only summer supplies. "Hello." A voice said. Sunset Shimmer turned to see an earth pony with a dark brown mane, brilliant chartreuse eyes, and a grilled cheese sandwich that has been cut in half, and split in two for his cutie mark named Cheese Sandwich who said "Big summer blowout! Half off swimming suits, clogs, and a sun balm of my own invention, yes?"

"Oh, great." Sunset Shimmer said. "For now, how about boots. Winter boots, and dresses?" "That would be in our winter department." Cheese Sandwich said feeling slightly disappointed. Sunset Shimmer looked at the winter department, and saw that it contained one outfit, a rope, a pick ax, and a lonely pair of boots. "Oh." Sunset Shimmer said as she went over to the dress and boots, and picked them up with her magic. "I was just wondering, has another young mare, the princess of Equestria perhaps, I don't know, passed through here?" As she put the boots, and the dress on the counter, Cheese Sandwich said "Only one crazy enough to be out in this storm is you dear." The front door suddenly opened, and Sunset Glare in his red and yellow winter outfit, and is covered in ice walked in, and closed the door. "You and this fellow." Cheese Sandwich said. "Hello. Big summer blowout!" Sunset Glare walked up to Sunset Shimmer, making her uncomfortable, and said "Dog biscuits." "Huh?" Sunset Shimmer asked. "Behind you." Sunset Glare said as he got in the princess's face. Sunset Shimmer looked behind her, and said "Oh, right. Excuse me." She moved out of the way, and Sunset Glare grabbed the bag of dog biscuts, and placed it on the counter. He then moved to get the rope, and pick ax from the winter department as Cheese Sandwich said "A real howler in July, yes? Where ever could it be coming from?"

"The North Mountain." Sunset Glare said. "North Mountain." Sunset Shimmer said to herself as Sunset Glare brought the rope and pick ax to the counter. "That'll be forty." Cheese Sandwich said. Sunset Glare looked at Cheese Sandwich in dismay, and said "Forty? No, ten." Cheese Sandwich shook his head, and said "Oh dear, that's no good. See these are from our winter stock where supply and demand have a big problem." "You want to talk about a supply and demand problem?" Sunset Glare asked. "I sell ice for a living." Sunset Shimmer looked out the window to see blocks of ice on his sled, covered in snow. "Ooh, that's a rough business to be in right now." She said. "I mean, that is really..." She stopped talking when Sunset Glare shot a look at her. "Ahem. That's unfortunate." She said softly. "Still forty." Cheese Sandwich said. "But I will throw in a visit to Cheese Sandwich's sauna." He looked at his family, and said "Hi, family!" His family waved, and said "Hi!" "Ten's all I got." Sunset Glare said. "Help me out." Cheese Sandwich then pushed the bag of dog biscuts towards Sunset Glare, and pulled the rope and pick ax away from him, and said "Ten will get you this and no more."

Sunset Glare began to seeth in anger as Sunset Shimmer said "Okay, just tell me one thing, what was happening on the North Mountain? Did it seem magical?" Sunset Glare pulled down his red scarf as he looked at Sunset Shimmer, and said "Yes! Now, back up while I deal with this crook here." Cheese Sandwich glared at Sunset Glare, and said "What did you call me?" Sunset Glare gulped in fear as Cheese Sandwich went up to him, and grabbed him by the mane. "Okay, Okay, I'm-ow!" Whoa!" Sunset Glare yelled out as Cheese Sandwich threw him out the shop. "Bye bye!" He said as he closed the door. Sunset Glare sat in pile of snow that he landed on as Winona went over to him, and sniffed him. She nudged him expectantly, and he said "No, Winona. I didn't get your dog biscuts." Winona pouted in response. Sunset Glare then pointed to a dilapudated barn, and said "But I did find us a place to sleep. And it's free." Inside the store, Cheese Sandwich went back to his counter, and said "I'm sorry about this violence. I will add a quart of lutefisk, so that we have good feelings. Just the outfit and the boots, yes?" Sunset Shimmer looked between Sunset Glare's supplies and the door, and decided to buy the supplies, the dog biscuts, the outfit, and the boots.
