Chapter 5

Sunset Shimmer and Prince Blueblood went back to the throne room to ask Twilight Sparkle for her blessing of their marriage. "Oops! Pardon. Sorry." Sunset Shimmer said to some ponies as she and Prince Blueblood were pushing their way through to find Twilight Sparkle. "Can we get around you there? Thank you." Sunset Shimmer then spotted Twilight Sparkle talking with Soarin and Flamethrower. "Oh there she is. Twilight!" Sunset Shimmer said as she went up to her sister. Twilight Sparkle turned to see Sunset Shimmer and Prince Blueblood. Sunset Shimmer bowed awkwardly and said "I mean...Princess Twilight Sparkle...me again. Um. May I present Prince Blueblood of Manehatten." "Your majesty." Prince Blueblood said as he bowed. Twilight Sparkle gave a polite, but reserved nod. "We would like-." Sunset Shimmer started to say feeling excited. "Your blessing-" Prince Blueblood said trying to finish Sunset Shimmer's sentence feeling excited as well. "Of-" Sunset Shimmer and Prince Blueblood said at the same time unable to keep their excitement down any longer. "Of our marriage!"

This news shocked Twilight Sparkle a whole lot. "Marriage?" Twilight Sparkle asked. "Yes!" Sunset Shimmer squealed out. "I'm sorry, I'm confused." Twilight Sparkle said. "Well, we haven't worked out all the details ourselves." Sunset Shimmer said. "We'll need a few days to plan the ceremony. Of course we'll have soup, hay burgers, and ice cream, and then-." She turned to Prince Blueblood, and said "Wait. Would we live here?" "Here?" Twilight Sparkle asked as her face paled in fear. "Absolutely!" Prince Blueblood said smiling. "Sunset-." Twilight Sparkle tried to say to get her sister's attention, but she was interrupted by Sunset Shimmer who said "Oh, we can have all twelve of your brothers to stay with us!" "What?" Twilight Sparkle asked feeling her fear grow. "No, no, no, no, no!" "Of course we have the room." Sunset Shimmer ignoring her older sister. "I don't know. Some of them must-." "Wait. Slow down." Twilight Sparkle said gaining Sunset Shimmer's and Prince Blueblood's attention. "Nopony's brothers are staying here. Nopony is getting married."

"Wait, what?" Sunset Shimmer asked in dismay. "May I talk to you please?" Twilight Sparkle asked feeling anxious. "Alone?" "No." Sunset Shimmer said moving back and standing closer to Prince Blueblood who look worried. "Whatever you have to say, you can say to both of us." Twilight Sparkle sighed and said "Fine. You can't marry a stallion you just met." "You can if it's true love!" Sunset Shimmer argued. "Sunset Shimmer, what do you know about true love?" Twilight Sparkle asked. "More than you!" Sunset Shimmer said in anger. "All you know is how to shut ponies out!" Twilight Sparkle felt hurt by those words, but she had to stay firm. "You asked for my blessing, but my answer is no." Twilight Sparkle said firmly. "Now, excuse me." As Twilight Sparkle started to leave, Prince Blueblood said "Your majesty, if I may ease your-." "No you may not." Twilight Sparkle said rudely interrupting the prince. "And I-I think you should go."

As Twilight Sparkle walked to the door, she looked at the royal handler and said "The party's over. Close the gates." "Yes, your majesty." The royal handler said. "What? Twilight, no. No, wait!" Sunset Shimmer said reaching for her sister's hoof, but she pulled one of the gloves off of her. Twilight Sparkle gasped as she turned around. "G-Give me my glove!" Twilight Sparkle said in panic as she reached for her glove. But Sunset Shimmer held the glove away from Twilight Sparkle and said "Twilight, please! Please! I can't live like this anymore!" As Twilight Sparkle fought back against her tears that were threating to fall down her face, she said "Then leave!" Sunset Shimmer gasped as those words had hurt her. Twilight Sparkle did not want to see her sister feeling so upset, so she turned and started to walk away. Heartbroken, Sunset Shimmer said "What did I ever do to you?!" "Enough, Sunset Shimmer." Twilight Sparkle said feeling upset. "No. Why?!" Sunset Shimmer said. "Why do you shut me out?! W-Why do you shut all of Equestria out?! WHAT ARE YOU SO AFRAID OF?!"

"I SAID ENOUGH!" Twilight Sparkle shouted as she turned around. But as she turned around, ice shot out from her hoof, creating spikes across the floor causing Sunset Shimmer, Crank Doodle Donkey, and Prince Blueblood to back up while the guests to cry out in shock while backing up in fear. Twilight Sparkle looked completely frightened because now everypony knew her secret. Prince Blueblood looked up at Twilight Sparkle in shock. Crank Doodle Donkey ducked behind Flim and Flam, and said "Sorcery. I knew there was something dubious going on here." "Twilight?" Sunset Shimmer said as she looked at her sister in dismay. Twilight Sparkle couldn't take it anymore, so she opened the door and ran off much to the dismay of Sunset Shimmer and Prince Blueblood.
