Inside the stables, Sunset Glare who was unfrozen was relaxing on a bed of hay while playing his lute with Winona sitting next to him. "Say, Winona. Do you think that dogs are better than ponies?" Sunset Glare asked. Winona barked, and in a dog-like voice, Sunset Glare said "Yeah, ponies will beat you, curse you, and cheat you. Every one of them is bad, except you." He smiled, and in a normal voice, he said "Oh, thanks, Winona. But do you think that ponies smell better than dogs?" Winona barked, and in a dog-like voice, Sunset Glare said "That's once again true, for all except you." In a normal voice, he said "You got me. Let's call it a night." Winona barked, and in a dog-like voice, Sunset Glare said "Good night." In a normal voice, he said "Don't let the frostbite bite." Suddenly, Sunset Shimmer who was wearing a red, orange, and yellow winter dress with a orange and red winter hat, and red and yellow boots opened the stables door, and walked in as she said "Nice place." Sunset Glare looked startled, and looked at Sunset Shimmer. He calmed down, and said "Oh, it's just you. What do you want?" "I want you to take me up the North Mountain." Sunset Shimmer said. "I don't take ponies places." Sunset Glare said as he lied back down and closed his eyes.
"Let me rephrase that." Sunset Shimmer said as she tossed Sunset Glare the supplies she bought. Sunset Glare sat up, and looked in the bag. He looked at Sunset Shimmer who said "Take me up the North Mountain. Please." Sunset Glare eyed her, cause he doesn't take orders. Sunset Shimmer sighed, and said "Look, I know how to stop this winter." Sunset Glare thought for a minute, and as he lied back down while putting his red hat on his face, he said "We leave at dawn. And you forgot the dog biscuits for Winona." "No I didn't." Sunset Shimmer said as she tossed the dog biscuits to him. When the bag hit him, Sunset Shimmer said "Oops. Sorry, sorry. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to do that." She then caught herself, and said "We leave now. Right now." She stepped outside, and waited anxiously. Annoyed, Sunset Glare offered Winona a dog biscuit, and she took a bite as he glared at the door. Later that night at the mountain high, Winona raced at top speed, up a narrow cliff, pulling the sled which skided precariously. Sunset Glare controlled the reins, and Sunset Shimmer sat beside him. Trying to scare Sunset Shimmer, Sunset Glare said "Hang on! We like to go fast!" "I like fast!" Sunset Shimmer said fearlessly as she leaned back, and put her back hooves up on the dashboard.
"Whoa, whoa! Get your hooves down!" Sunset Glare said as he pushed the back hooves down. "This is fresh lacquer. Seriously, were you raised in a barn?" Sunset Glare spited on the dash to clean it, and the spit flew back, and hitted Sunset Shimmer in the face. She became grossed out as she wiped her face, and said "Ew. No, I was raised in a castle." "So tell me, what made the princess of Equestria go all ice-crazy?" Sunset Glare asked. Sunset Shimmer sighed, and said "Oh well, it was my fault. I got engaged, but then Twilight freaked out because I'd only just met Prince Blueblood, you know, that day. And she said that she wouldn't bless the marriage." "Wait. You got engaged to somepony you just met?" Sunset Glare asked. "Yeah." Sunset Shimmer said. "Anyway, I got mad and so she got mad and then she tried to walk away, and I grabbed her glove-." Sunset Glare interrupted her, and said "Hang on. You mean to tell me you got engaged to somepony you just met?!" "Yes. Pay attention." Sunset Shimmer said. "But the thing is she wore gloves all the time, so I thought, maybe she has a thing about dirt." "Didn't your parents warn you about strangers?!" Sunset Glare asked. Sunset Shimmer eyed him up and down, and she slid away from him as she said "Yes, they did. But Prince Blueblood is not a stranger."
"Oh yeah?" Sunset Glare asked. "What's his last name?" "Of Manehatten." Sunset Shimmer said. "What's his favorite food?" Sunset Glare asked. "Sandwiches." Sunset Shimmer said. Best friend's name?" Sunset Glare asked. "Probably Dr. Whooves." Sunset Shimmer said. "Eye color." Sunset Glare said. "Dreamy." Sunset Shimmer said. "Hoof size?" Sunset Glare asked. "Hoof size doesn't matter." Sunset Shimmer said. "Have you had a meal with him?" Sunset Glare asked. "What if you hate the way he eats? What if you hate the way he picks his nose?" "Picks his nose?" Sunset Shimmer asked. Sunset Glare nodded, and said "And eats it." "Excuse me, sir. He's a prince." "All stallions do it." Sunset Glare said. "Ew." Sunset Shimmer said in disgust. "Look it doesn't matter. It's true love." "Doesn't sound like true love." Sunset Glare said. "Are you some sort of love expert?" Sunset Shimmer asked. "No. But I have friends who are." Sunset Glare said. "You have friends who are love experts." Sunset Shimmer said dryly. "I'm not buying it." Winona suddenly stopped, as her ears perked in alarm. "Stop talking." Sunset Glare said. "No, no, no. I'd like to meet these-." Sunset Shimmer tried to say, but Sunset Glare placed his hoof on her mouth, and said "I mean it. Shhh!"
Sunset Glare stood up, looked into the dark woods surrounding them. Sensing something behind them, he held his lantern up with his magic. Its light reflected off...eyes. Several of them. Sunset Glare began to panic as he turned to Winona, and said "Winona, go! Go!" Winona nodded, and started to take off. "What are they?!" Sunset Shimmer asked. "Timberwolves!" Sunset Glare said as the timberwolves came running after them. Sunset Glare hopped into the back of the sled, lifted a torch with his magic, and lighted it up. "Timberwolves." Sunset Shimmer said. "What do we do?" "I've got this." Sunset Glare said. "You just...don't fall off and don't get eaten." "But I wanna help!" Sunset Shimmer said. "No." Sunset Glare said. "Why not?" Sunset Shimmer asked. "Because I don't trust your judgement." Sunset Glare said. "Excuse me?!" Sunset Shimmer asked feeling offended. A timberwolf jumped at them, but Sunset Glare kicked it off as he said "Who marries a stallion she just met?!" Sunset Shimmer grabbed the lute and swung it at a timberwolf, knocking it off the sled as she said "It's true love!" "Whoa." Sunset Glare said in shock. Just then, a timberwolf yanked him off the sled, and the torch was sent flying. Sunset Shimmer caught it with her magic, and looked at Sunset Glare in shock.
"Sunset Flare!" Sunset Shimmer called out as Sunset Glare held onto a loose rope hanging from the back of the sled, and held on for dear life as he was dragged behind. "It's Sunset GLARE!" He said. A timberwolf jumped onto his back, and he yelped. Using the torch, Sunset Shimmer lit a blanket on fire, held onto it, and yelled out "Duck!" She threw it, and Sunset Glare ducked as the flaming blanket hit the timberwolves, and they tumbled off him. "You almost set me on fire!" Sunset Glare said as Sunset Shimmer pulled him up onto the sled, and said "But I didn't." Winona suddenly barked, telling the unicorns that there is a massive gorge ahead. "Get ready to jump, Winona!" Sunset Shimmer said. "You don't tell her what to do!" Sunset Glare said as he gave her a satchel, and picked her up with his magic, and said "I do!" He teleported her to the other side of the gorge, and said "Jump Winona!" Winona obeyed, and jump to the other side. Sunset Glare jumped off the sled as it fell to the ground, and he held onto the cliff. He looked down onto the sled as it hit the ground, and bursted into flame. "But I just paid it off." Sunset Glare said sadly. Suddenly, he started to slip as he said "Uh-oh. No, no, no!" Sunset Shimmer used her magic to retrive an axe, and a rope, and used them like a really long rope.
"Grab on!" Sunset Shimmer said as Sunset Glare grabbed on. "Pull, Winona! Pull!" Sunset Shimmer said as Winona began to pull Sunset Glare onto the other side. When he made it onto the snow, he fell down feeling exhausted. Sunset Shimmer peeked down at the burning sled. "Whoa." Sunset Shimmer said as she looked at Sunset Glare. "I'll replace your sled and everything in it." Sunset Glare groaned as Sunset Shimmer said "And I understand if you don't want to help me anymore." As Sunset Shimmer walked off sadly, Winona walked over to Sunset Glare, and nuzzled him while whining. "Of course I don't wanna help her anymore." Sunset Glare said. "In fact, this whole thing has ruined me for helping anypony ever again." Winona whined some more, and in a dog-like voice, Sunset Glare said "But she'll die on her own." In a normal voice, he said "I can live with that." As Sunset Shimmer tried to figure out which way to go, Winona whined again, and Sunset Glare said in a dog-like voice "But you won't get your new sled if she's dead." Knowing that she had got a point, Sunset Glare said "You know sometimes I really don't like you." Winona smiled, and licked his cheek. "Hold up! We're coming." Sunset Glare said calling to Sunset Shimmer. "You are?!" Sunset Shimmer asked before she caught herself, and said "I mean, sure. I'll let you tag along." Sunset Glare and Winona ran to catch up with Sunset Shimmer, and they went off to find Twilight Sparkle.
