Chapter 15

Suddenly, the window bursted open, and the cold wind started seeping in. Sunset Shimmer gasped, and Spike said "Don't worry, I've got it!" He ran to the window, and closed the first panel. As he struggled with the second panel, he said "We're going to get through...oh, wait. Hang on. I'm getting something." He broke an icicle off the window, and used it like a telescope. He saw Sunset Glare and Winona running down the mountains as he said "It's Sunset Glare and Winona! They're coming back this way!" "They-They are?" Sunset Shimmer asked. "Wow, he's really moving fast." Spike said. "Huh...I guess I was wrong. I guess Sunset Glare doesn't love you enough to leave you behind." As Sunset Shimmer tried to get to her hooves, she said "Help me up, Spike. Please." Spike ran to Sunset Shimmer to stop her from getting up as he said "No, no, no, no, no. You need to stay by the fire, and keep warm." "I need to get to Sunset Glare." Sunset Shimmer said. "Why?" Spike asked. Sunset Shimmer gave him a 'you-know-why' look, and he said "Oh, oh, oh, I know why. There's your act of true love, right there, running across the fjords like a valiant, pungent mountain king! Come on!"

Suddenly, the walls cracked under ice pressure as Spike said "Look out!" They rushed out just as the ceiling collapsed. Sunset Shimmer and Spike struggled down the hall, but some ice spikes grew, and blocked their path. "We're trapped!" Spike said. Sunset Shimmer desperately looked around for a way out. Outside the castle, Twilight Sparkle ran for her life, but was nearly blinded by the snow and wind. Back inside the castle, Sunset Shimmer and Spike bursted the window open as the storm grew strong enough to sweep the window panes away. "Slide, Sunset!" Spike said. Sunset Shimmer and Spike slid down the ice-covered castle. Sunset Shimmer arrived at the bottom, weak, but uninjured. Spike arrived at the bottom while he was gathering snow, and he became a snowball. "We made it!" He said as he got out of the snowball. Sunset Shimmer struggled to her hooves. On the other side, Sunset Glare and Winona ran as fast as they could as Sunset Glare said "Come on, girl, keep up!" Sunset Shimmer and Spike reached the shore of the fjords as Sunset Shimmer said "Sunset Glare!" The wind suddenlt lifted Spike, and pulled him apart. As he swirled off into the storm, he said "Keep going!"

Sunset Shimmer struggled on as she said "Sunset Glare!" Sunset Glare and Winona kept running past the cracking frozen ships. Winona struggled over the uneven surface as Sunset Glare said "Come on! Come on!" Suddenly, a mangled ship that was risen by ice capsized over them as they gave it their all while the debris fell all around them, and the mast shattered. They made it past just as the entire ship slammed down, and cracked the thick ice beneath them. The ice opened up, and Sunset Glare jumped over a gap while Winona jumped, and landed in the freezing water below. "Winona? Winona!" Sunset Glare said as he looked around. Suddenly, Winona emerged from the surface, and made her way to a floating ice chunk. She signaled Sunset Glare to go on, and he said "Good girl." Sunset Shimmer moved blindly across the fjord. She looked down on her hooves to see them frost over an icy-blue as she muttered "Oh no." She stumbled on as she weakly said "Sunset Glare." Her eyes became lifeless and blank as she weakly said "Sunset Gare." Sunset Glare became lost in the white-out, but then he heard a faint "Sunset Glare." "Sunset Shimmer? Sunset Shimmer" Sunset Glare said as he ran towards the sound of her voice.

Twilight Sparkle ran through her own storm as fear started consuming her. She gasped as she saw a shadow, and started to run. The shadow turned out to be Prince Blueblood who said "Twilight! You can't run from this!" Twilight Sparkle backed away from Prince Blueblood as she said "Just take care of my sister!" "Your sister?" Prince Blueblood asked. "She returned from the mountain weak and cold. She said that you froze her heart." "What? No." Twilight Sparkle said. "I tried to save her, but it was too late. Her coat was ice. Her mane turned white." Twilight Sparkle became shocked at what she had done as Prince Blueblood said "Your sister is dead...because of you. "No, no." Twilight Sparkle said as she became emotonally broken. She dropped to her hooves, and the snow storm finally stopped as she became trapped by grief. Sunset Shimmer looked across the fjord to see Sunset Glare as she whispered out "Sunset Glare." "Sunset Shimmer." Sunset Glare said as he ran towards here. Sunset Shimmer struggled to get to Sunset Glare, but then she heard the sound of a sword being pulled out. She turned to see Prince Blueblood slowly walking towards Twilight Sparkle. "Twilight?" Sunset Shimmer asked. She looked at Sunset Glare as he gave him a longing look, but then, she turned away as she used her remaining strength to run towards Prince Blueblood, and Twilight Sparkle. As Prince Blueblood swung his sword down, Sunset Shimmer ran in front of it, and said "NO!" She then freezed to solid ice as the sword hit her hoof instead of Twilight Sparkle, and the force of it sent Prince Blueblood flying back, and knocked him out. The solid ice princess then drew her last breath.
