Hope
Is like a needle with a string
It starts out slow
But once it grows
It can bring two separate things together
Sometimes it is the only thing that keeps us together
Hope for a new home
A new life
New family
New beginning
But sometimes
The string can be cut
And hope is torn in two
Ripped apart
The life you hoped for is now diminished
Lost in the dark
'Hope is the thing with feathers
That perches in the soul'
It is such a true statement
Hope can stick to you
Like glue
Until something tears it away
Just like that
It can flutter out of your heart
No longer there
And it takes awhile for hope to settle there again

I know this one sort of sucks but I've had it stuck in my mind for awhile. I don't know if I'm going to keep this going but I know that I probably just had a dry spell and couldn't think of anything to write but now I'm writing tons and it's so weird it's like it's just flowing out of me. Every single word. Okay, I hope you like the poems. BTW, if I do go on I hope to get to 50.
