We all know a lullaby or two
It was the only thing that calmed us down
Or got us to sleep
But sometimes
It's not a song
That can be a lullaby
It can be anything that calms us down
A stuffed animal
A blanket
Looking up at the sky
Reading
Or prayers
All lullabies
As a child we were taught
Twinkle Twinkle Little Star
Mama's Gonna Buy You a Mockingbird
Rockabye Baby
But there are also books
Goodnight Moon
Green Eggs and Ham
One fish, Two fish, Red fish, Blue fish
All of these are strongly part of our memory
And they are all lullabies
As a child
As a teenager
As an adult
Lullaby
