PROLOGUE
Harry's boots scuffed the pavement as he and Eden strolled down the middle of the empty street. Engulfed in previous chatter, Harry became curious as to why Eden kept her distance from him. He had known people spoke of his past and twisted it to make him sound like an egotistical bastard but Eden had seen who he really was –or at least he hoped. So what was driving her from befriending him? Was she that low of a person to believe what everyone said? No she couldn't be. Her thoughts were too deep to blend with such shallow ones.
"What do they say about me exactly?" Harry asked as he peered over at her. Her head was lowered, her eyes focused on her feet and where she walked. Cautious. Her brown eyes looked up at him, bewilderment across her facial features- the raised eyebrows, the slight frown that pulled down at the corner of her chapped lips. Harry turned his face to his own feet as he dug his hands deeper into the pockets of his jeans as a gentle wind blew by.
"I'm not sure you want to know." She frowned more as she turned back to her feet.
"If I didn't want to know, I wouldn't have asked." Harry smiled to the ground with his lips shut. Eden shrugged her shoulders and exhaled deeply through her nose.
"Okay, let me re-word that; I don't want to tell you." She stated before she began to nibble at the inside of her cheek. Harry looked up and noticed. Anxious.
"Why is that?" He asked as he raised his eyebrows. When she didn't answer he tried to re-choose his words. "Alright, then let me re-word the question to make it more personal," His infamous smirk pulled at his lips as she looked over at him again.
"Say one thing you think about me." His eyebrows were slightly drawn together, his eyes now holding a growing spark of curiosity. First, Harry stopped walking and when Eden noticed, she stopped in her tracks too but remained in front of him.
"Honestly?" She asked, raising her eyebrows. She averted her eyes from his and focused on her shoes. She moved the ball of her foot back and forth grinding a stray pebble trying to avoid the question.
"Honestly." He replied. There was a long pause between the two as Eden tried to collect an answer on the tip of her tongue.
"Okay," She exhaled before speaking again, her eyes following from the toe of his boot to his piercing eyes, "I think you're not who everyone says you are."
